New Battlestar Galactica!
About this creation

I figured it was time for an update!

I like the look of the curved slopes. I'll add some shots of the flight pods, but I think it's overall more accurate than my first version.

This SHIP, my Gunstar, and another yet to be constructed vessel, will be making an appearance at BW 2016.

It's exactly 100 studs long, 20 wide with the flight pods retracted. Yeah, that's right, retracted. 3...2...1...

Jump!

Flack ammunition: Fire!!

Here's a link to the Flickr SHIPtember Group.

Quoting Luka Tomašić As you have build Galactica will you ever build Pegasus? I would really like to see you build it as you have awesome Galactica and other Colonial ship builds.
Thanks, Luka! You know, never was a fan of the Pegasus. But I might take a shot at another class of Battlestar, so stay tuned!

I was curious what the curved bricks would be like, at a smaller scale of course. Thanks!

Quoting cyberfrank 2010 this must represent the ship of the new serie more than your previous model I guess, in any case, it looks even better I think, other than that, the pics are as impressive as I can remember, if you had the money to stay home, and make movies, there is no doubt that in time, you d eclipse the real tv show... that s quite an achievement. you can be proud! well done El barto!
Thanks for the great comment, Frank! Yes, this one is quite a bit curvier than the last one.

Quoting Parrington Levens By the way guys, can someone actually tell me what Shiptember is? Is there an actual group avery year? Are there guidelines?
It's a contest on Flickr to build a 100 stud or more ship within the month of September. Post whatever pics you want, but they also want one from the side to add to the group poster they do at the end. Last year I sent the edited gif file to make it easier.

Quoting Tim C I have retractable pod envy;) This is awesome, Bart. Love the updated look. It's an excellent representation of the rebooted series. I like how you drew the ribbed look all the way through the entirety of the design. Can't wait to see the next build, nor can I wait to see the fleet in person. Until then, my friend.
Thanks, Tim! What I like about this, and what I didn't do with my first version, was completing the underside. Just not sure how to photograph it without my hand in the way?

Quoting David Roberts Great work and I love how it's just at that all important 100 studs long SHIP thing length. Was that deliberate? I love the retracting pods. Did they do this on the original Galactica or just in the newer TV series? Can't wait to see the final ship in your trio of new builds.
Yes, the specifications are exact. 100 studs by 20 with the pods retracted. You'll see next Spring what it's all about ; ) The whole retraction thing was just in the new series. Not sure why Galactica's pods had to retract but Pegasus' didn't. Anywho, thanks for checking it out!

Quoting LukeClarenceVan The Revanchist Now this is beautiful! Nice new sleek design you've got going on - the smoothness belies the impressive size. Good to see an update to this awesome classic, can't wait to see it in some episodes. If you don't mind my asking, would you be willing to do me a favour? Usually I wouldn't try to solicit 'likes,' but if you could like as many of my most recent creations as possibly, it would be of great assistance for a game I'm in. I'd owe you one for sure. Actually, I'd probably owe you a few! Looking forward to more BSG! Do you ever bring these to BrickWorld or other cons?
Well, this one and the Gunstar are both going to be at Brickworld 2016, plus another ship I just started working on. Thanks for the great comment, Dude!

Nice job, especially at this modest scale (yes, even at 100 studs, I feel that this almost qualifies as a micro-build :-). Is this going to be an official SHIPtember entry?

The only update your first version could(!) need is some stud covering work. Although, the studs give her the used 'bucket' look! ~Marc
