Scaler (Legacy)
THE FINALE! The last round of the HF Self MOC contest has come around, and for that reason I present to you my HF Self MOC, Cliff Scaler, in his final form!
About this creation
This is for the The Hero Factory SelfMOC contest!, run by my dear friend RaptorTalon ~.
Round 2: Scaler 2.0
Round 3: Scaler 3.0
Round 4: Scaler (Breakout)
Round 5: Scaler (Brain Attack)
Round 6: Scaler Brawl Machine
Round 7:

Cliff Scaler:
Cliff Scaler is a Hero working for the Hero Factory. Though not a particularly skilled fighter, this winged Hero relies on guerrilla tactics, striking quick, powerful blows and then disappearing from sight. He is armed with a plasma cannon and a small shield. Cliff is mild mannered and introverted; those who know him well will recognise his energetic yet cynical humour, but he is still admired for his dignified presence, his silence and his intelligence.

Scaler was originally built in the Hero Factory Assembly Tower to showcase the new 2.0 build. However, the designers found him too clunky and awkward for the showcase, and so worked to perfect the look with Evo and Nex. He remained neglected for a few months, before he met Jenna Arrowhead, who he became friends with. Arrowhead, already a prestigious Hero at this time, asked the authorities to assign him to her team. Cliff, along with this new team, was sent to Tanker Station 22 to help the Alpha Team battle Firelord’s gang. Scaler also received the 3.0 upgrade, and was sent to Quatros to help battle Witch Doctor, but was called back to base before he could properly contribute. It was here that they lost one of their team members, Joey Tumbler.

Cliff’s greatest challenge was during the Villain Breakout, when he was assigned to capture the cat burglar Depravitie. His bulky form was substituted for a slimmer one and he was given a pair of roller-skates. He found Depravitie in Antropolis city, who tried to escape him on a stolen motorbike. He caught up with her on his roller-skates and jammed his blade into the wheels, destroying them. This was very controversial, as this in itself was a criminal act. She was captured, but a lawsuit was filed against the Hero Factory by the original owner. Despite winning this, the Hero Factory still compensated him for the damages.

Scaler played minor parts in both the Brain Attack and the invasion of Antropolis City, doing mostly groundwork for both, in addition to taking out the Simiasaur in the former event and the Mutation Beast in the latter, piloting the Brawl Machine. All was peaceful until a couple of years later, he and his team was roused when a decoy RaptorTalon intercepted their cellblock and broke out three villains. Dread revealed himself to them, and threatened to kill Mary Windbird, a Hero of some prestige. Scaler set off with Arrowhead and Sanah Torch to Racta Magna, where they found Windbird and warned her of the threat to come. The following day, Dread arrived in the city of Racta Major and demanded that Windbird be handed over.

Dread orchestrated a siege on the city, in which Scaler helped Arrowhead fight a villain named Bipotron. Though the heroes were beaten, Dread was unable to capture Windbird. Scaler set out with Toa Krode to find the villain, but encountered Depravitie instead, who was free and had joined Dread. They were defeated, but Krode lifted Scaler’s spirits with a speech about the need for failure. They returned home, only to fight Dread and his gang at the gates of Racta Major, which ended with the death of Lupus, an ally. The group responded by attacking Dread and his newfound army, the Platonic Justice. The villains were defeated, but Windbird soon gave up her life to Dread. Scaler and the other Heroes returned to Makuhero City to bury the Dead.

Scaler is currently in Makuhero City, helping to raise awareness of the Gomorran Massacre.

And here we go! One last time; CLIFF SCALER EVERYBODY!

The back. Okay, so one of the specific rules for this rounds was that this entry had to incorparate elements from all the previous rounds into this model! (Probably hardest for me, as I entered more rounds than anyone else :P) So I'll demonstrate that here!

From Scaler 2.0, I took the arm cannon! Not the exact same design, but it has the same aesthetic. It is also no longer a multitool ice cannon, and more of a generic plasma cannon. This is also the 'Iconic Tool' that the entry had to have, too!

From Scaler 3.0, I took the wings! I originally had these awesome wing design with technic panels, but unfortunately they were too bulky to fold away, so I ended up using the exact same pieces from his 3.0 version (Maybe not the exact same; I have two pairs of Hahli wings)

From Breakout Scaler, I took the head, and the overall darker aesthetic. That was my favourite version of Scaler before this one.

From Brain Attack Scaler, I took the shield and forearm design. (Which is essentialy an adaptation of the Breakout version, but whatever.)

Though this wasn't required, I even gave him a datapad in reference to his Invasion from Below version! :D Thank you very much to Daniel H for allowing me to use the datapad-on-gun-arm idea, which he created for his entry to this very same contest, Tesla!

Staring down Kulta the Skull Grinder!

Fighting alongside Mary Windbird.

Scaler and Raxonax, my Hero Factory self MOC and my Bionicle self MOC.

Fighting his nemesis: Depravitie!

Just a little preview for what's coming next week!

That's all folks, I'm done with Scaler for now!

Best of luck to all the contestants! :)

Quoting Chains Productions Oh gawd, the size of that blaster would blow his arm off :P Anyway, an awesome final entry! All the different elements from your previous versions fit in very well. The lower legs seem to be the best out of any previous versions, which is good as those always stuck out to me. The inclusion of trans-red was a little jarring at first, but I've grown to like it. I have a few problems though, first of all would be the silver. I feel it's a bit just tacked on and doesn't mesh well with the blue and trans-red. I also think it looks very bulky for it's size, a little too bulky in fact. I think thinning him down a bit would help...If you get what I mean :P Anyway, it's still your best version and I can't wait until your next creation next week!
Thanks man! Yeah, I added the silver for the benefit of the cannon and the shield, really. I may do an update where I remove the silver and thin him out a bit, but yeah. Thanks for the comment Chains!

Awesome work! He looks brilliant! And definitely not someone I'd like to battle. I'm going to keep a very close eye out for those other revamps.

Quoting Quartz roolz nice. i have some concepts for my entry floating around, but idk. anyway, i don't really like the trans red, and i didn't see it on any of his other forms, but that may just be because i am the one guy who just despises trans pieces because bananas. yea. nice design anyway
Thanks Quartz! Yeah, the trans red wasn't in the other versions, and I definitely understand your beef with it; too many sets of late have had an abundance of it, but I did it to support the trans red skull and also to have something to contrast with the blue and make the colour scheme a bit more interesting.

Quoting De Silva Captain America 2.0! Oh, wait, it's Scaler. Jokes aside, he looks nice, and incorporates all the things I liked on the previous versions of him. All in all, nice.
