Moskva-class soviet ASW-cruiser, pr.1123 "Condor". Scale 1:700
About this creation

Another attempt to build a model of Moskva-class ASW-cruiser. At this time - at a scale of 1: 700. The ship has a characteristic shape of the developed superstructure, hull lines have complex shapes. Designed for day and night search and destroy submarines in all weather conditions, which carries a 14 anti-submarine helicopters. However, his main weapon is not the helicopters, but missile system SUW-N-1 "Whirlwind" with 10 nuclear missiles. Yes, the "Moscow" and "Leningrad" was designed and built for nuclear war. The main tactic of application - in peacetime tracking missile submarines, and upon detection of a rocket launch - strike nuclear missile "Whirlwind", before the enemy submarine has time to release remaining 15 (or 23) ballistic missiles. Fortunately these ships never had a chance to demonstrate its advantages in a real war. However, the cruiser "Leningrad" was actively involved in demining waters of the Suez Canal in 1974.

Quoting Indy Beetle Excellent design, I see you've taken more of a SNOT approach. The leveled superstructure was my favorite part. Something I wanted to know: I was recently looking into the into the old Imperial Russian/Soviet Gangut/Sevastopol class dreadnoughts, possibly for pre-build research. I was curious: What is Russian public opinion on their old battleships? I know in the United States everyone can name a handful, and their somewhat a source of pride as well.
Thanks for comment, Indi! The hardest part was to make the case - in many respects it determines the appearance of a cruiser. Although the superstructure of the ship at first sight noticeable)) Dreadnoughts Sevastopol type well known in Russia. Of course they were not the best in its class. In the First World War, they fought very passive and glory not earned. After the revolution, the civil war and devastation, during the industrialization of the country, 3 of 4 battleships were repaired and modernized. They renamed - Marat, the October Revolution and the Paris Commune. The first two were in the Baltic Sea and last made the transition to the Black Sea. In World War II, these ships have played an enormous role in protecting the city, the main naval bases. I was born and grew up in Leningrad. Huge populous city of more than three years was besieged and completely blocked by Hitler's army. People were dying of hunger, but worked in factories producing weapons and ammunition, fight, defending his hometown. In terms of the air by German aircraft, long-range artillery fire large-caliber battleships played an important role in containing the advancing invaders. After World War II, these battleships were still some time, and then removed from the Navy. But their tower guns were removed and installed on the coastal batteries. However, modern fire control systems and modernized artillery shells with improved aerodynamics, the old battleship gun turrets still represent a formidable force.

Quoting Magma ! Incredibly good for such a small scale! I love how you made the helicopters.
Thanks for comment! Production of the helicopter was the easiest. I already had a "Kamov" on the scale of 1: 350. I simply removed the extra details that it becomes half)))

Nice job on the shaping -- I don't think it would be possible to do much better at this scale.

Thank you for rating, Matt! There is no limit to perfection )) There are a couple of ideas how to do better, but still lacks the necessary bricks))

Quoting Locutus 666 A very well build! Coloring is also great!
Thanks, Locutus! Above the colors ought to be more work - under the deck launchers to be too green. And under the gun mounts - red. Maybe then I will correct.
