Custom Caldari Scorpion Battleship from CCP games' EVE online, MMO. My entry for SHIPtember 2015. Length: 130 studs, width: 120 studs, height: 70 studs, weight: 22 lbs / 10 kg. One of the ships I've been flying for many, many hours. Now I own one IRL!
About this creation
The first Scorpion-class battleship was launched only a couple of years ago, and those that have been built are considered to be prototypes. What has been garnered suggests that the Scorpion is crammed to the brink with sophisticated hi-tech equipment that few can match. This ship's design represents a radical turnaround in Caldari philosophy, particularly when compared to that of the regular Scorpion-class counterpart. Abandoning the concept of an electronic warfare platform, this vessel's creators instead set their sights on direct combat, with superior shielding and offensive capabilities giving this monster the undeniable upper hand in a vast range of tactical situations. This unique model represents a refit pirate version of a Navy issue Scorpion.

Hey Tim, I didn't spot your comment, otherwise I'd had returned here sooner ofc. Whatsup!? Thanks for the praise man, fun watching this back.
Quoting Tim C How have I never commented on this!!!??? I think this is my favorite of your works, Pico. It's one of those rare works that you can't take all in with your first ten looks. There's always something worth looking at that you didn't notice before. The shaping is superb and it's some of the best greebling you've done to date. I especially love how you executed the tail coming off the rear. Great work, man.

Now that would be going all out! But.. putting that amount of time and effort into 1 category alone would require a sabbatical from work lol. Don't get me wrong, I'd totally do it if it wasnt for the money and needing to provide for a family ;)
Quoting Mark B. Too bad you can't use something like this for DA3 (or who knows, we haven't seen the rules yet, so maybe you can). It is pure brutal awesomeness, from the wingtip guns all the way up to the stinger.

Hey Pico, thanks, I just wanted to make sure. Pico, I was wondering how easy is it for you to edit your creations into the space backgrounds. I can sort of do it but not as beautiful work as you do. Mainly I was wondering about adding the fire/thrust stuff to my couple of spacey creations?

Quoting Oran Cruzen Hey Pico, I really did not try to duplicate your "Tequilatron" paint scheme, but as Scott noted, it looks like you may have entered in to the peaceful "Space Race"! LOL http://mocpages.com/moc.php/428227

Yes, 'sadly' you do have to invest some time (and a bit of money if you wish to stay a while). Very well worth it though if you ask me!! The free trial might be a fun starter. You get several weeks of free roam and it's a good way to get a little taste of what's around. I'd recommend a trip to Jita (main trading hub) if you ever get to try it. The EVE universe is breathtakingly beautiful and very vivid. I'm glad the take on a different shape is appreciated. That was my idea of doing 'something else' this year. For that bent piping I hesitated between buying a few forgotten big tubes from the Mars sets or doing something custom, this result looked better and saved me some coins as well :D Thanks for the comps David!
Quoting David Roberts I wish that I had to explore games like EVE online but I just know that they're very complex. However, EVE does seem to contain some amazing ship designs. This is a real departure from the usual, long, thin SHIPtember builds, which is nice to see. I like the curved pipe thing on the engine section, made of round plates. It would never have occurred to me to try something like that. The whole SHIP is well worth your patience and waiting for Bricklink orders.

Keeping the 3D model next to me was definitely an advantage and a necessity to get things right. I'm flattered you think this has improved EVE's design. That's more than I could wish for really, cheers man
Quoting VAkkron ™ Like Wesley said below, I think the "smoothness" is what blows me away! It has so many layers to it and each one meshes perfectly with the one below and the one above that in the end it DOES look organic, just like a scorpion. Speaking freely, I believe your design out of Lego bested EVE's official design! Maybe someday I'll have the parts, resources, and experience to build like this! A masterpiece, well done my friend.
