My entry to my MOC-off with Andrew Spader, where our category was revamping a previous LOM build.
About this creation
It has been a long and hard winter.Nothing but snow and cold, with the occasional sunny day.But now,it is at its end.Spring has finally arrived, and the snow is starting to thaw.Rivers are flowing, plants are budding, and the sun shines more frequently. At last, the winter is over.

Time:September,23 ABU
White Lotus 1(to staffed WLís left): Is this the place?
WL 2(staff):Yes,this is the hideout.
WL 1:So this is one of the places our founder was?
WL 2:Yes.Have you ever heard the tale behind it?
WL 1:No,I havenít.
WL 2:Then you may be interested to hear it.

Time:March,22 ABU
Karon did a rare thing for himself by taking time to enjoy the scenery. He saw the waterfall flowing, carrying remaining junks of ice.He thought it was lovely, but the peace wasn't to last.

Mythronian Commander:Hey,it's the guy who stole that treasure from us a few days ago!Let's get him!
Karon:Not again.

Karon:Ugh,that water is cold.Hey,there's a cave behind the waterfall. That's interesting.

Karon:Hmm,it looks like someone lives here, perhaps an Outlaw. He must be quite successful.

Karon:That's an Outlaw alright.My jump-and-kill senses are improving.And I have an idea.

soldier:Hey,there's someone in the water.
commander:It must be the person who stole our treasure, there's the bag.He was foolish to plunge and hide in this cold water.
soldier:Are you sure that is the same one? This one looks a bit different.
commander:Do you think you got a better look at him than the rest of us?Iím sure this is the one.
Being the low person, the soldier could not further argue his case.

a little while later
Karon:Well,we meet again, squirrel.I have found a nice place here. You must be good luck to me,since these two times I met you I found another hideout for myself. And this one came with treasure!Shall we celebrate together?
Karon:That must be a yes.

time:September,23 ABU

WL 2:And that is how it happened.
WL 3(behind WL 2):Are we right to follow Karon with his shady past?
WL 2:Karon may have had his faults, but he is different now.Do not forget that you used to be a thief before your recruitment into the White Lotus.
WL 3:...
WL 1:Do you think our leader will ever return from his mission?
WL 2:Yes.I am confident in his abilities and sure when the time is right he will accomplish his goal.

MOC time!

Notes:Though some it has been improved, the flashback text is mostly unchanged from its original appearance.I am aware that the cave pics aren't very great, though that could be because it is longer than the original and harder to get close shots of it.But overall,I think this is a nice build.

Hope you enjoyed!

I like the "underwater" shot where Karon sees the cave - it's certainly not something I expected to see, but it's instantly recognizable from the way that it's brighter at the top and dimmer lower down. The blue-and-clear water looks good as well.

This is, surprisingly, fairly difficult to judge. On the one hand, Toa Jaton's build is much more recognizable due to the unique layout. On the other hand, Andrew's moc is much more refined. Although the lighting on Toa Jaton's moc is cool and the idea is novel, I feel that Drew's better use of colors and higher attention to detail makes for a more overall appealing Moc, and so Drew gets my vote.

Nice work. I'd recommend going for a cleaner and more refined MOC; some of the rough sections and excessive loose pieces made this look a bit too messy for my taste. Andrew gets my vote.

Sooo MOC-off judging . . . right. I have to say, Andrew's build is much more refined and well-built. Though Toa Jaton's is pretty unique in itself, it's not enough to win the MOC-off, I'm afraid. Andrew has my vote.

The story is a bit lacking, but still a great MOC!
