Mercer Co WV EMS COMMAND 1
This is my second lesson in vehicle construction. Oran Cruzen built a blue and white version of his Heavy Rescue based on the LDD from FDJC on Emergency Bricks at my request. I wanted to not only customize but progress into transforming it into a different truck. Keeping as many of the brilliant features as I could. Here are the results of that effort. I hope you enjoy, rate and comment both positive and negative. Jimmie.
About this creation

This is where I wanted to put my own stamp on this beast. It has been changed from a 2012 Spartan Gladiator to a 1998 HME Heavy Rescue patterned after the Pre 911 FDNY HME's that were lost on that tragic day. The specter of which hangs over this nation to this day creating a need for preparedness and making units like this not a luxury but a necessity.

This unit is the type of command and MCI-MTU unit I wish we had available when I worked EMS In Mercer County WV. This unit would bring the patient care equipment equivalent to 10 fully stocked ALS ambulances minus the drugboxes. When in use it becomes a staging area for incoming transport units both ground and air. With the 40 foot awnings deployed it allows for victims to flow thru the triage process smoothly receiving initial treatment and classification for transport. It allows EMS-OIC to coordinate with receiving hospitals statewide to get appropriate levels of care from walking wounded to Level 1 Trauma. Patient charting can begin at the initial triage level with the onboard patient data entry computers in the rear compartments on both sides of the rig.

EMS 1 would be housed at the Mercer Co. 911 Center located in the center of the county. When An MCI is declared a trained EMS dispatcher would deploy with the unit. The first dispatched EMS unit From one of the 2 county rescue squads would divert to respond EMS1. then EMS-OIC would delegate staffing for the Triage center based on the severity and number of patients involved.

EMS 1 Has extra wide rear step bumper so that the module tray with the spineboards and litters can be slid forward to gain access to the 40 Pelican trauma cases stored in the belly of this beast.

This MCI-MTU carries 50 spinboards with CIDs, Spider straps. and 100 surplus military style folding litters.

Here you can see the bedded Wilburt Command Light Tower and the bedded 800mhz microwave mobile repeater tower. The orange strobes on top identify EMS 1 as the command center and triage area from the air when the awnings are deployed.

Quoting Starbuck Starfighter This is simply fantastic. How much $ would this be if it were a legitimate LEGO City set? $500? Great job!
Glad you liked it. Appreciate the like and the kind words. Since this was my very first wheeled vehicle It was around 475.00 for me to detail to the level I wanted. As I do more I should be able to reduce the cost some.

Hey Jimmie my friend, this is one really great creation of yours!   I know you change the "yours" to "ours" BUT I only provided the basic rig to start with and then you took it to an altogether higher level!  I brought it in at the ground floor and you took the roof off with your modifications!  LOL  Remember I am the sergeant, you are the captain!  Hahaha! AND Jimmie, thank you for all of your kind comments!

Quoting T.J. Brammer @Jimmie, I agree with you and I completely forgot about Beckley. But WV mine Rescue would be the only association that would need a MCU more than anyone else. I'm not 100% sure if they have one or not, but they would need one this size or bigger. But around where I live, if they had the money for one of these, they would spend it on equipment, ambulances, and crew.
Like I said The key word is wish. I spent 15 years working with whatever we had available to deliver the best possible care we could. We started out with 2 ambulances 1 light rescue and all volunteer, and became an all paid provider with an entire fleet of trucks. Which eventually became an EMS provider Of the Year.

Quoting Henry H Very nice rig Jimmie! I really like the colors. You should try an engine or a truck next.
I am the goal in all of this is to build all 5 AVFD rigs in 8 wide. But this is just a side project to the main build that I will finish and be posting sometime next year. Glad you liked the rig. Can't wait to see what you do next.

Quoting T.J. Brammer Nice rig Jimmie! But I hope that you realize that Mercer County, let alone any other county in WV could afford a real one with the exception of Charleston, Huntington, Martinsburg, and Bridgeport. And it would still cost an arm and a leg to buy one. But anyways I like how you created this rig to represent FDNY's rescues, and how you used all the space to fit so much equipment. Great rig and I hope you make more.
Yeah T.J. I know we can't afford it Beckley, maybe. has the tax base to support a rig like this. The key word in the description was Wish . We can all have dreams ever though our realty may be quite different. I still would put the quality of care given in WV up against EMS system in the US. You don't have to be big to be good. I am really glad you enjoyed the rig it was a lot of fun to build. Take care be safe and keep on brickin.
