This is a kind of new MOC from me. The reason I say ďkind ofĒ is that I liked the technic arm thing I made for my mini Mercedes Arocs truck so much that I wanted to use it for another MOC.
And here it is in classic space form.
This is a Classic Space Wrecker that can also double up as a cargo truck, as it has a nice big flat bed cargo area and of course the crane arm.
Cab interior shot. As you can see it has space for 2 minifigs to sit, you could fit more but itís standing room only. Thereís also the all important mug of coffee, even though itís Classic Space he is still a trucker after all.
The old fashioned air lock.
The bottom half of the steps are hinged and fold up for ground clearance.
Here at the back of the truck under the middle grid is storage for tools and chains.
One of the things I now have to consider in my new shed is the mix of kids and heating.
Iíve got a nice plinth heater in my shed. My shed is also a kid magnet because of the Lego in it.
My youngest came in and started playing with my prized LL918 space ship. When he got bored and went off he decided to leave it in front of the plinth heater. This is what I found, you can imagine I was not best pleased. Aghhhhh Kids!!!!!!!!
And as you can see here, the Spacewoman wasnít best pleased either, better call for help.
I was quite impressed by how much weight the crane arm can cope with and also how stable the whole truck was.
The grids are all hinged so they can be adjusted to cope with unstable loads.

Great design all the way round, and gobs of play value, Andy! Interesting crane arm linkages. Don't take it apart. If the wheels on the Mars rover Curiosity keep getting torn up at the current rate, NASA's going to be calling you in a couple of years.
This is great. All too often we think of anything dealing with space as the sexy spaceships but we forget that in real war or related enterprises there is always more supportive vehicles, supply, personnel, etc. than the things/vehicles that we think are so cool
not a lot of classic space gets me, its cool, but the builders some times go waaaaay out there, creative, but out there, HOWEVER, this thing, this is great, CS build, with some actually plausible thinking behind it, i love CS builds that could actually happen, like, i could see this thing being used in a Moon colony, Great Job, 5/5
That crane arm.... wow. I'm impressed that it performs so well. No wonder you like it so much; the vehicle it's attached to is pretty snazzy as well. Are you gearing up for the next CSPMC ? Maybe you'll win a replacement 918 :-)
