Forestmen Ambush
The Forestmen hide amongst the trees waiting to attack the passing group of Dragon Knights to take their gold.....
About this creation
The Forestmen subtheme of Castle has been one of my favorites ever since I was a kid. I am not old enough to have owned Forestmen sets but when my family would go to my aunt and uncle's house to visit, my brother and I would play with my cousins' old LEGO from the 90s and there was at least one Forestmen set mixed in with the others - Forestmens' Crossing. We never actually put that set together because we were missing the instructions and some of its parts but it was definitely part of my cousins' collection because they had the unique baseplate that came with the set and the minifigures including the Forestwoman, lots of foliage pieces, and the bridge.
Now about 10 years after the last time that I actually played with my cousins' LEGO collection (it has since been passed down to two of my second cousins so I have not seen it since), I have started to collect some of the Forestmen minifigures. I got a few from Bricklink along with foliage pieces and the old palm tree trunk pieces and bows and Forestmen shields.
This is the first MOC that I have built using the Forestmen minifigs and parts I ordered from Bricklink and I am very happy with the result. The only thing that I realized I should have done after I finished building it was that I should have made the river less straight.
Castle is definitely one of my favorite themes to build in so I will definitely make more Castle MOCs in the near future.

Yeah, it's sad but almost none of my 30ish favorite builders are active here anymore (most moved to flickr XD ). And yes, Flickr has a very easy to use uploader.

Very nice work! Those dragon knights will be in for quite a shock indeed. Great job. :)

Quoting Matthew McCall All that foliage you have makes for a good forest scene, nice work. Anyway, as one current WSU student to another, have you ever thought of moving your lego account to Flickr? I was initially opposed to it myself, but after I switched it was totally worth it. The community is a lot more active on Flickr than mocpages these days and you aren't limited to mocpage's tiny image size limit.
Yeah I've noticed how MOCpages is becoming more and more inactive so that might not be a bad idea. Flickr probably has a better way to upload photos too. Maybe I'll have to move some stuff over to Flickr over Christmas break after finals are over.
