I wanted to build a more classic-style ladder truck without a pump. The trickiest part was designing it so I could get a ladder stored internally while still having room for compartments and the middle section over the wheels being built upside down.
About this creation

Click here to keep up with my Lego projects on Twitter.

Compartments hold emergency equipment. I'd like to see Lego's fire trucks come with more equipment and more compartments.

Ground ladder can be stored internally.

A look at the building technique that allows the ladder to be stored. The slopes above the wheels are built upside down.

Outriggers fold down, and the ladder can be supported by the technic connectors.

The design is made possible to the correct proportions by using a 1x5x4 door. This is my third MOC to use this piece (I was able to obtain four of both left and right doors thanks to Bricklink.com).

The design was inspired by Pierce Arrow XT trucks like this one.

About 1/3 of my fleet. New Truck 5 lower left.

Quoting Vibor Cavor Wow! I'm into vehicles but not so much into fire fighters. Having said that I am amazed at how much I crave to have this collection at home. I'd play all day!
Thanks. The fleet is definitely designed to respond to any simulated (play) emergency you can think of.
