Santa Fraugs is coming to town in my 6th Annual Christmas MOC!
About this creation
Merry Christmas you guys! As it was pointed out to me by my life long enemy and friend, Aaron "Lego Lemniscate/A Plastic Infinity", this is yet another idea of mine that I am rehashing but I really don't care. And the other idea that I had was not family friendly and really would not have been a build that I would produce. So yeah, it's Santa Fraugs and his Frogracer which is a "rehash" of Santa's Podracer from two years back.
It's pretty simple like my other Frogracer, especially since there is a larger version of this one, but I still like it and I hope you guys do, too. I finally had a chance to build after some time and so something simple is a nice start.
The Reindeer Pods
Yes, that's right, there are only eight; Rudolph is the NINTH reindeer and this takes place BEFORE he was found and needed. The configuration of these pods should already lead to the gifts in the sleigh being toasted or at least covered in exhaust gunk, so if I were to add a ninth pod in the front, well then Santa Fraugs is then blasted with it and the illogical setup of these pods just becomes stupidly illogical.
On a brighter not though, I did decide to throw in an Easter Egg by giving one of the pods its deformity from the previous version and does not in any way reflect the number of brown studs I own...
Anyway from this side, you can also see how the pods are constructed. Two 4L rods barely span the width and hold the four pods together on each set.
The Sleigh and Gifts
So aside from Aaron giving me grief about there not being a Rudolph, he also hated that the flower pieces used for the wreaths and garlands because they were not accurate enough and in their place, move the cables there, or add two more for Rudolph. He's wrong in all of those accounts and I will ignore him from this day forth if I every share WIP images with our secret club. As you can see, I have quite the distaste for him, and he deserves a lump of coal, but I'll still consider him a friend.
I used a number of snot pieces to get the walls in place and it is all pretty intense in my opinion. To know see some more about the construction of the sleigh, check out the review of mine further below!
This year, I also obtained the promotional Christmas Train and I used whatever the heck those candies were with the black stripes as inspiration to make the gifts and I quite like them. I also added in some gifts made of jumper plates to add some size and shape variety like I did with the larger version.
