Bracket 1 Category: To shed some light on the dwarf invasion, you head to one of the many libraries in Bodus Minor to do research. Build a Moc that shows your discoveries, be they about the dwarves or other things. The catch: The build must be coming out of a book. This can be anything from simply building your Moc on top of a book
About this creation
My opponent.

The diary of Edward McFarnley
(12 years before the battle of the unbinding) A few nights ago, a strange boat washed upon our shores here in Meids, carrying strange short folk with long beards. At first we didn't pay them much mind, we often have castaways land here as the current draws them up to our shore. The dwarfs, as we called them out of earshot, took up residence in the inner city. Later that month, we [the garrison in Meids]began hearing reports of many muders with no cause, and also theivery involving lots of food. Our commander would not have such ruckus in his city, so the guard around markets and other heavily populated areas was increased. One morning, when villagers from the outlying farms came to sell their goods, we glimsed one of the dwafs among them. For a while we paid him no mind, until we started hearing shouts of terror from where he had been spotted. We turned his direction to see him slinging an ax about, killing multiple villagers. After what seemed like hours, the soldiers captured him and prought him to the prison. He said but a few ominous phrases before he took his own life: "Beware, for this is but a taste of what is to come. The storm brought us here too soon." For many years, the dwarf scared the lords of Mythron, increasing the garrison and the overall alertness of the towns. After many years, nothing ever happened, so we all dismissed the threat from the dwarf as just a madman speaking. But I'm writing this for you, my reader, incase you ever need to know.

Textures galore! Looks great, the road in particular. I do think the open-book-page-thing concept is a bit overused though, and the jaggedness of the pages ruined the effect for me. Still, outstanding working on the entire piece!

Dang it Grant! I thought it was my turn to use the short, awe-inspiring "You made it" phrases... Um...your build is good and I'm going to give you my vote I guess?

It doesn't seem to be relatively new, other than the book border, but it has some nice textures.

You get my vote. I think your coming-out-of-the-book part looks great and I love the layout of the scene. The ground is also fantastic. The roof is one of the only weak parts - having a flat top to a roof is almost never a good idea. The texturing on the stonework/whitewash could also be improved a tad, but still, nicely done :)

Pretty danged cool. Very effective coming-up-out-of-a-book technique.

Very nice. I love the floor textures. When did you switch to fleshy minifigs? I'm so behind on LOM.
