Here we can see the resupply depot with the seaplane called the "Island Hopper", and the steamship called the "Great West".
About this creation
The main part of this model was inspired by set 60068, Crooks Hideout (City - Swamp Police) along with the crane from set 7596, Trash Compacter (Toy Story 3).
The crane is supposed to be attached to the end of the dock on the removable section. Because it won't be until sometime in February before I order that part of the model, I have decided to upload it as-is, and upload the crane by itself when it's finished.
Here is the front of the building with it's sliding door, cattle skull and downspout. The removable section attaches to the building via the Technic pins located near the bottom of the picture.
The rear and right side of the model features rock-work designed to imply the the dock is hooked into an island.
The upper floor is actually more like a half floor with a large balcony over looking the warehouse below. This section of the building houses the radio that lets the Adventurers communicate over vast distances. Also up their is a safe full of important paperwork and ammo for the weapons armory located downstairs.
(I'm sorry about this picture's quality, it was the best I could do with a cellphone camera!)
On the lower floor we find the weapons armory and space for boxes, steamer trunks, crates, chests and the occasional barrel, all full of needed supplies and re-found treasures going to and fro across the globe.
I built this ship from two Adventurers sets: I used the boat from set 5975 (T-Rex Transport) and modified slightly to resemble set 5976 (River Expedition). The ship features a boiler, steering wheel and a bigger smoke-stack. I have added a complete bridge with removable roof instead of the open topped one on my previous version of the ship. Also, I have recently added a mast to the front of the ship, and changed the name to the Great West.
This is an seaplane based off 2008 Indiana Jones set 7628 (Peril In Peru), along with inspiration from 2000 Adventurers set 5935 (Island Hopper) thrown in for good measure. The plane now has a interior that seats five people: 1 pilot and four passengers. These inside details are accessible by taking off the removable roof & wings.
