Maserati 250F Tipo 2
This is my LEGO scale model of Juan Manuel Fangio's 1957 Formula 1 car (minus the yellow striping), with which he won the World Drivers' Championship.
About this creation
The 1957 German Grand Prix, often regarded as the greatest race of all time, was won with this car. Fangio overcame a 51 second deficit to win the race. For more information and history of this car, I recommend visiting this page.

This is my second attempt at recreating this car in LEGO form, as my first attempt was not particularly successful. And while there are still some areas on this one that I'm not entirely pleased with, I'm happy with the overall result.

This is part of a long term project to build at least one Formula 1 car from each decade of the sport's history (1950 - present). Including this car, I have completed the 1950s, 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s.

This is awesome. Do you have instructions to build? Not sure if my son has all the bricks but he loves the engine and front of the car. Thanks

Truly amazing, I like the engine and the front the most. Only the wheels appear to be for offroad purposes

Quoting Hildigrim Took Wow! The shaping on that is incredible!
Thanks!
Quoting Lucas Inc. This thing has an incredibly difficult shape to capture in Lego form but you have managed to do it quite well. The exhausts look really great as well and the fact that you even managed to pack an engine inside is just the icing on the cake. Very nice work!
Thank you, Lucas!
Quoting Yann (XY EZ) Absolutely perfect. Just wow; well done!
Thanks, Yann!
Quoting Oliver Becker Marvelous shaping of this famous car! Kudos to you brothers!
Thank you! But LB Senior was not involved in the making of this MOC. :-)
Quoting Jeremy McCreary Absolutely superb in every respect but especially the shaping, as everyone seems to agree! Imagine how much fun that car must have been to drive. Great to hear the legendary Juan Fangio spoken of again. He was my one of my longer-running middle school heroes. So was Sophia Loren -- an even better Italian gift to the world than the car.
Yeah, I bet it was fun - but also very scary. Given that safety was not a priority back then it's amazing that anyone survived that era of motor racing.
Quoting Emmanuel Spencer Superbly awesome!
Thanks.
Quoting Elk Guard Fantastic work, that shaping of the curves is amazing!
Thanks, Elk! It seems a lot of people like the curves.
Quoting Greg 998 Excellent!
Thanks, Greg.
Quoting Angka Utama Sculpture on wheels.
