FebRoverary - Lunar Segways!
Segways - still goofy, even in space!
About this creation

The True Segway

4th wall - So I set out wanting to build a segway-like balanced vehicle in the CS style, simply for the sake of goofiness. The little ones above were my first attempt - a failure. I couldn't get the weight balanced just right, so had to stick a back wheel on it. Not being able to replicate truly functional gyroscopic stabalizers on such a small scale, I hit the bricks again and figured out how to make something that kinda sorta replicated a balanced segway. Method: big wheels, tiny low chassis. Set on a flat surface, the chassis really does stay level. Give it a nudge and it rolls all right.

This is my favorite angle.

Dreams for the future - I might one day fashion some huge brick-built wheels to amke an even bigger CS segway - some sort of mobile scanning platform, perhaps.

Wonderful builds and great humour! I like the big wheeled one, especially that side view. Visibility at T-junctions must be a nightmare! I built a Segue for Febrovery in LDD and then TF Frost built it in real bricks. I really don't know how he balanced it:

That looks nice. I like how big the wheels are.
