FD Medium Rescue - Test
About this creation
Here is another test. Please be kind. I found this picture online of a United States Navy Heavy Rescue Squad 51. So I tried something similar. This time using the light bluish gray Speed Champions mudguards. Also added two more pictures of the unit open. Since posting this Jimmie Martinez found out that this is a KME Medium Duty Rescue and pictures are on their site. Thanks Jimmie!

Here is the inspiration:

Well as of 3/12/2016 10:30am I guess the test is a success as far as Most Discussed shows:

Quoting Steven Asbury "Now we just need to inspire the Lego Group to release compartments in 2-tall size for over the back wheels" I agree but I did try this: http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/417443

Quoting Steven Asbury Excellent work. I'm very much liking this scale with the Speed Champions wheels. Do you have plans to add details to the interior? Now we just need to inspire the Lego Group to release compartments in 2-tall size for over the back wheels. See my post on the subject here http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=119388#entry2431381
Hey Steven, thank you very much for stopping by and leaving a kind comment and of course a Like! I have no interior plans at the moment. I usually have not been doing as much detail but I would be more than happy to get some expert advice from you and other more expert builders than I to take this up a notch or 2 or more.

Quoting Scotty Jones Honestly i would call this a heavy duty rescue, even though it is not a tandem axle. This is a beautiful rig though oran cruzen, congrats on another amazing looking fire truck.
Hey Scotty, I cannot help but pick on you now, Jimmie called me and found the manufacturer website which is KME. It is a Medium Rescue per KME (It is in a gallery of medium rescue rigs): http://fire.kovatch.com/info/photo-gallery/rescue/medium-duty

Quoting Christian Collins Great looking rig, but allow me to make a suggestion. I recently made the change to the speed champion wheels on every single one of my apparatus. I feel it looks better using the black wheels, it gives the illusion that the tire is thicker. With the grey wheels it just looks too thin for a truck that size.
Hey Christian, thanks for stopping by and leaving a Like! I agree but I did not have enough in stock. I build mainly for resale, if I was building for myself, I would build them using the black rims and the chromed hubcaps like this: http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/419378

Quoting Sven Jagdmann Rumors about a ladder truck from O.C. firetruck manufacturing Inc ;) Very interesting. Btw, your Rescue here turned out very well. Really like the design with the light grey SC wheelcases + the chosen paint scheme. Great work again my very good friend.
Hey Sven my very good friend, thank you so very much! Yes, rumors are correct! Jimmie and I had a phone call today and a ladder was brought up. I was just going to do the new Lego set 60112 and make some changes. But it looks like I do not have what I need, mainly the lower ladder connections, the hydraulics, so I will have to make another one when I get those parts. Got any suggestions for my first one, the hydraulics part? I have the parts for the type used in the 60002 set. http://lego.brickinstructions.com/lego_instructions/set/60002/Fire_Truck

Hey Scotty, thank you very much! I figured that with a shorter cab and only a single axle, that I would call it a medium but the real picture was listed as a heavy.
