The fifth 2014 Ford Explorer Utility from me is based on FDNY EMS Divison 1. Tried to add as many details as possible and I think it turned out very well. Some features: Working head- and taillights (built in a LifeLites eLite Jr. Signature kit with four led lights), reflective stripings, antennas and stuff on the roof, chromed hubcaps and much more ;) I hope you like this new Ford Explorer.
About this creation
Here you can see the built in eLite Jr. Signature kit from LifeLites LLC.
The roof and windscreen can be removed easily for easy access to the switches of the Microcontroller Unit.
All pictures were taken with lights on but in my City you can see them much better. Very funny that you can see the same rig in the background like on the pic of the real unit.
And here is the real unit. Picture taken by "zamboni-man" on Flickr. Use it only as reference to my model.
Sven, I would like to talk to you about your EMS Division 1 command car. My father is the Chief of the department and he is about to retire after almost 40 years. That is his command car, and you've done an extraordinary job. Please email me and let me know if you are willing to create another to sell.
Keep on brickin my friend!
Awesome job Sven.
Oh I think in black with your baybrick colours it will be another really awesome unit :) The rim I used is the black one from Speed Champions: http://brickset.com/parts/6104403 The chromed hubcab is a PartNo. 98138 1x1 round tile custom chromed by Auri on Bricklink: https://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=Aurimax
Hope this will help you my friend. Thank you so much for your nice comment btw ;) Cheers, Sven
this is wicked sven im so building one in black for baybrick now theve done black wheel arches also can you tell me the serial number for the wheels as i cant find chrome ones you've used on this i don't know what set there from cheers sven fantastic work as ever mate
Firas my friend, thank you so much for your great comment! Used a lot of jumper plates, around 16 or so ;) Fixing the lights was very easy in this case. Used very flexible ones: http://lifelites.com/products/3447
*smile* *smile* :D Thank you so much for your very kind words my friend. Sure, do whatever you want ;) No problem. You don't need to ask me if you wanna use the design. Have fun building your own. Greets, Sven
UHHHHH whoa. This is insane Sven, it looks so good, by far this is the best of the Ford Explorer LEGO models that you have ever created. Sven could i ask if i can make something similar this one? but for Lego falls?
Let me guess: Hot Pursuit series from Greenlight? Saw the die cast model several times during my picture search for this one ;) Thank you so much for your very kind comment buddy. I'm happy about that I could amaze you with this unit ;) :)
It's just a matter of practice and you need good working tools and a bit patience. With every model its getting better and better. Thank you very very much for your really nice comment Reid. It's very much appreciated :)
WOW! Sven, this is GORGEOUS!!!! I love these rigs so much, and this one is just stunning. I have a die cast one of the same model and type, and it looks just like it. I am amazed:) Keep up the good work buddy:D
I think that one of the reasons why this design became so popular in the community. It's one of my favorite car models I did so far. Thank you so much for your very nice comment and compliment. Happy about that you like it so much my friend!
Geoffrey my friend, thaks so much for your really nice comment! Was really easy installing the light kit into this one. No glue and no drilling was necessary. A grey one of my Explorers got the same lighting kit.
Oh yes, this one into a fitting scale to your 8 wide trucks could be very difficult work. That's one of the reasons why I never started to build 8 wide firetrucks. It's still a great scale, your rigs are awesome and you can add many details to your 8 wides but they won't fit into my city which is another reason for going 6 wide. Thank you very much for your very nice comment my friend. I'll do my best ;)
