My entry to round 1 of the Middle-Earth LEGO Olympics, based off one of my favorite scenes from the book, "The Hobbit"
About this creation
This is my entry to round 1 (the qualifier) of MELO 2016. The category is to "Build Something From The Hobbit." I really enjoyed this scene in the book. I designed it based partly on the movie, partly on the set (which I have) and mostly on how I imagined it when I first read the book and on the books description. So without further blah blah blah, here it is!
So drunk they fell asleep sitting up! Actually, it's pretty hard to make them sleep face down on the table without giving the impression that they are doing parkour.
Even a burglar sometimes returns things.
"Roll-roll-roll-roll, roll-roll-roling down the hole!" The book describes "great oaken trapdoors" (doors, not door, there is only one in the movie) so I tried to acurately portray this.
This and the main pic show off my second creation to use a lot of rockwork. I still don't use a lot of SNOT in my rockwork.
The wine rack that I worked SO hard on. Getting it designed and built was trial enough, getting it onto the scene was even worse!
