LDD file included for the whole train, complete with 2-8-2 "Mikado" type steam loco.
About this creation
This freight train is in the middle / late stages of being built. I have just the two boxcars, bathtub gondola and tanker car to be built, plus caboose is just a few bricks short of finished. The bricks have just been ordered today to complete the train.
I should have this finished (and photographed) by next week or the week after that.
Inspired by the green tractor trailer from CITY set 4204 (The Mine), this bathtub gondola is carrying boulders from the mine destined for the gold refinery where they will be opened up and the metal extracted to make coins and ingots.
This drop side flat car was first part of set 2126 (Train Cars), but it didn't really have a purpose. It was hauling uprooted evergreen trees in the set, but that didn't look very good, so I changed it to generic freight. (My resident hobo usually catches a ride on this car.)
This flat car has a fancy road vehicle load on top. The automobile is styled similarly to set 7682, (Shanghai Chase) but minus the cloth canopy.
This Mikado was the second of my trio of 1920's steam engines to be built in real life, and features a swinging front pony truck originally derived from Anthony Sava's 2-8-4 steam loco. The loco also has a boiler inspired by set 79111 (Constitution Train Chase) and a bigger tender than the first in the sequence, but smaller than the later one. This loco serves as the freight hauler on my railroad. (I'm using a screen-shot here to represent the loco to keep the style of the other photos. It is already build, though, and photos of it have been taken!)
