About this creation
MOCathalon 2016
Team Brick Dynasty

This is a recreation of the scene from The Music Box with Laurel and Hardy. The duo has gone into the moving business and, of course, get the job of delivering a piano to a house at the top of several flights of stairs.
Of course it repeatedly slides down, etc.
Later on they realize that they could have driven around back.

Arrival.

"Right up there!"

"Heave, Ho! Heave, Ho!"

"Now why didn't we think of that before?!"

Another picture of the carriage:

And the houses - first the blue one:

The purple house:

Entrances on either side. I have no idea what that white thing is, but it was there in the film, so it's here in the brick!

The red house:

And finally the tan house at the top:

I tried to make this as accurate as possible though several times it was hard to tell exactly what the layout was from the video!

The build was really fun, especially all those houses, and the palm trees too. Working with this many slopes was neat as well.
Thanks for looking! Comments are appreciated!

Quoting Kenji ! Ha ha, fantastic microscale!
Thanks!
Quoting Werewolff . That is some awesome microscale! Great details and techniques throughout! Good luck.
Thank you! One of my favorite scales to work with!
Quoting Lego Jim ..... Wow. I love microscale, and you did it great. I wish I was a half inch tall so I could walk around on it. Awesome work.
Thanks! Now wouldn't that be fun! ... as long as you weren't one of the two having to haul the piano up. ;)
Quoting VAkkron ™ Amazing, and excellent comedy!
Thank you!
Quoting Chris Phipson While it doesn't show the "slapstick moment" I think this really captures the spirit of the original skit showing the scale of their task. 5 points! ~Chris.
Exactly what I was going for... glad you appreciated it! Thank you!
Quoting Master Shifu Leo J Clean, nifty build!
Thanks!
Quoting D H Amazing!
Thanks man!
Quoting David Alexander Smith 5 - another fine mess you've built there. Great!
:D Thanks!
Quoting Lego Jim ..... I had to come back to see it again. This is really good. I was just noticing some of the little details. I like how you put a few smooth tiles in the grassy areas, this makes a really nice looking effect. And I like the way you bent the trees slightly so it looks like they are growing out of the hill and then growing upward. the hill is done really well also, I like the black border around the base, brilliant, it covers the bottom over the bricks nicely and makes a really clean look. This is another fine moc you have built there. LOL. I just had to say it.
Wow, I'm really glad you liked this so much! Thanks man! :)
Quoting matt rowntRee The most brutally frustrating slapstick film ever created! I remember watching it and actually getting angry with them. I would have liked to see more of the moment in spite of your flawless micro-building talent. Score = 4
Yeah, though at this scale adding more pain would have been pretty nearly impossible... I actually tried the scene with the piano going over Hardy, but that just plain looked silly. XP Thanks though!
Quoting Per Bonde Impressive. Always a fan. Great build.

Quoting Ian Spacek Beautiful scale.

Quoting Oliver Becker That's a classic silent film comedy of these both famous actors and a wonderful MOC to remember this! :)
