MELO Round 2: Bryan Garth vs. Caleb Walker
Orthanc Bracket; Category: Fog on the Borrow Downs; I was happy with the category I got! I had a lot of fun building it and I am pleased with how it turned out!

Nice entry! I feel this looks a bit like a huge version of my own Barrow-downs MOC. :P I was really looking foward to this entry, because Fog on the Barrow-downs is one of my favorite chapters from FOTR. You did a nice job on the rockwork and the barrow-wight minifig, but in the end your opponent gets my vote because he added more detail to his MOC not to forget his excellent fog. Cool creation though, keep building! :)

Quoting Reese Hawthorne Wonderful builds from both builders! Your build was quite unique for this category; in fact, I think this is the first time I've ever seen someone actually build a barrow-wight for this scene! :P However, your opponent's build included both fog and great textures overall, and so my vote goes to him. Based on this MOC, I think what you should work on is layering your landscaping, as the ground is quite flat in this build. Keep on MOCing!
Thanks for the advice! Man, I almost added fog! Oh well, maybe next time! :)

Nice job on making it to Round 2! Both builds are nice and offer something a bit different. Bryan, I like that you built the actual Barrow and included a nice Barrow Wight minifigure, The stonework is nice, though I feel the cave could have had a bit more of a smooth transition to the ground so it looked more natural. Caleb, I really like the pillars and landscaping in your build! The inclusion of the Hobbits is nice too, though a bit more fog would not have gone amiss. In the end, my vote goes to Caleb because his build was more detailed and interesting. Good luck with the other judges!
