(LOM) Prince of Theives
Aethus the Thief is one of the most renowned outlaws in the Kingdom. His story begins in the forest of Toldyn some where in the Northern region of Mythron. He grew up in a village near Mead, but after a brigade of Mythronian warriors pillaged his village and murdered his family, he swore he would avenge his family and friends. He left and made camp in central Mythron. He attracted a large group of followers who banded together against the tyrannical treatment of the Mythronian Government. During their continuous war with Nerouge and Rainos,Mythron found their supply lines being cut. Investigation lead to the discovery of a gang of disgruntled peasants and merchants called the Defense of the People lead by none other than Aethus himself. The crown did everything in their power to stop the guerilla raids on their supply caravans to no avail. Aethus and the Defense of the People raided with impunity. Eventually the military put a reward down on Aethus' head. He was worth and Earldom and 5000 pieces of Gold, as well as a beautiful maiden, making him the most wanted man in Mythron. Two young foolish young nobles heard Aethus and some of the DoTP were encamped at the ruins of Tashner, old outpost in the Toldyn Forest. They foolishly rode into the forest without any supporting troops in order to bring back Aethus' head on a pike.....

---- Huge shout out to my little sister for letting me a)borrow her camera b)help me hold and position the lights. I don't own my own camera as my 08 Nikon bit the dust. Last moc I posted was with my iphone camera and I really didn't like that at all. Her camera has a weird way of focusing. The center isn't always the focus area even when it says it is which is weird. So excuse a few of the pics that are a little blurry. I also ran completely out of cheese slopes which isn't cool and was unable to touch up the destroyed wall and the outside rock formations the way I wanted too. My biggest thing holding me back is my lack of pieces. I visited the pick a brick wall at my local lego store but they didn't have any of what I needed so I think I will place a Lego.com order eventually when I get the money for it. It's really fun to get back into moccing and nice that I have some free time to do it.

Thanks for viewing,
To God be the Glory,
Josh

Everything about this is expertly done. The path, the rock formations, the tree: they're all brilliant!

Brilliant path, brilliant trees, and I like the figures a lot too! Well done! [IAD]

It would help if the trees were SNOTted, but really nice work!

Great build a nice story. You have some great techniques such as the broken down wall, the intriguing road (path) and the trees. Good job.

Nice work, liking the detail on the wall and path. You may have a lack of pieces but you don't have a lack of plants.

Quoting Deus "Big D." Otiosus Nice landscaping, I like the path.
Thanks for the comment Big it means a lot comming from such a great builder as yourself. Remember the Metal Legion vs Crimson Freedom? I'm trying to spark some moccing again and rebooted the ML group and set it up with two factions like LOM. Idk if you want to check it out. It is called Metal Legion: Dawn of War.

Quoting Reese Hawthorne Nice build! I think the trees are the only really awkward part of the build; the tree trunks jut out too much in some places, making them look unrealistic. I would try to keep the slopes, but remove those lumps and bumps. http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/428047 Here you can see a good example of a half-SNOT half-brick-built tree. Once again, nice build!
Thanks for the advice! I lack the parts to build a lot of things :(

Quoting Gilbert Despathens In my experience, Bricklink is by far the best source for useful parts. It's a little more expensive, but almost any piece ever made can be found there for some price or another. Also, I actually like the trees (sorry, Reese): they might not be ultra-realistic, but they do feel natural without being messy. The masonry looks more awkward to me, but I'm guessing that's down to parts shortages, since you use details in some parts but normal bricks in others. Anyway, welcome back to the LOM!
Very much do to part shortage. I have 20 wall pieces and had to spread them out as much as possible :D

Nice to see you building again, Josh! The layout here is pretty good, though the trees might look better with a SNOT technique for the trunks. Anyway, nice work!
