"All dead, all rotten. Elves and Men and Orcs. The Dead Marshes. There was a great battle long ago, yes, so they told him when Smeagol was young, when I was young before the precious came. It was a great battle. Tall Men with long swords, and terrible Elves, and Orcses shrieking. They fought on the plain for days and months at the Black Gates. But the Marshes have grown since then, swallowed up the graves; always creeping, creeping." -Gollum (The Two Towers; page 614)
I must say that I'm very pleased with how this turned out. I've been so busy lately, and I'm glad that I got this up! At first I wasn't sure how I wanted this to look. Since the marshes themselves are sort of flat, I didn't want it to look too flat.
I had other ideas for this build such as, the bodies in the water, and a Nazgul atop a Fell-Beast, but I didn't have enough time! Please enjoy! And good luck to my incredibly talented opponent, "and may the best Dwarf win!"

Frodo and Sam following the dreaded Gollum
"The tricksy lights. Candles of corpses, yes, yes. Don't you heed them! Don't look! Don't follow them!" -Gollum (The Two Towers: page 613)
Oh man, this is hard... Both of you turned out amazing creations! Your build really conveys the swamp-y side of the marshes; it would have been nice, though, to include the 'dead' part of the marshes by having transparent water with skeletons, etc. So, while these MOCs are amazing, your opponents fantastic fell beast wins me over. He has my vote.
Wow, excellent MOC! I really love the sand green swamp elements. And I disagree with Elio: The huge rock at the left side of the buuld is one of my favorite parts. In the end your opponent got my vote though, because of his really excellent and unique fellbeast design. Good luck with the other judges!
