Senku, the Wanderer
Senku is a former Toa of Fire, now a wanderer striving to defeat the God Eaters.
About this creation

"My name is Senku. I'm a warrior, but no Toa. Because unlike a Toa, I don't plan on dying anytime soon."

History

Senku started his life on Metru Nui as a mask maker in Ta-Metru. Unlike many of his matoran friends, he didn't admire the Toa, but he still held respect for them. The lack of admiration came from his ideology - everyone is susceptible to death, no matter who they are. This mindset really sank in after he heard of Lhikan's demise. Also unlike his matoran brethren, he didn't join them to Mata Nui. Instead, he was running from a group of Vahki gone haywire when the Great Cataclysm started. He was flung from the land and into the sea, knocking him unconscious. He floated aimlessly until he awoke on Voya Nui, now a Toa but lacking his memories of Metru Nui. He would later have a run in with the Piraka, and while he did fight bravely he was ultimately defeated after a surprise attack by Hakann and Vezok. Down, but not out, he gritted his teeth and went to work training and honing his skills.

After the Inika chased the Piraka off the island, and started running after the Ignika, Senku would serve as the island's protector while the Toa Nuva were traveling back to Metru Nui. He found Toa Stones, and decided to give them to the Voya Nui Resistance team - Balta, Dalu, Garan, Velika, Piruk, and Kazi. The six transformed into the Toa Soga and raced off to assist the effort in Mahri Nui. Senku would stay on the island for some more time, until he heard of the battle going on in Karda Nui. He raced off to join the battle.

Here in Karda Nui, Senku would become the de facto leader of the Toa Soga and meet the Makuta who would become his arch-nemesis: Veinor. It was also here in Karda Nui that Veinor would capture and inject his own strain of visorak venom into Senku's body. While he did ward off a total transformation, he became much more Makuta-like: wings, horns, a clawed hand, a mutated mask, and a harsher attitude. On the bright side, Senku gained basic control over all 42 elements. After his escape, Senku donned a cape to try and hide his new wings.

At the advent of the energy storms, Senku and the Toa Soga raced off with the Toa Nuva back to Metru Nui. Senku didn't join the groups in the arena, but he did hear how Teridax was now, effectively ruler of the universe. He raced off to find rebels who would join him to fight Makuta's endless forces of Rahkshi and Exo-Toa. Along with the Toa Soga, who he regrouped with, a former enemy also joined their ranks: the warlord Kereko. Kereko and Senku became quick friends and better comrades through fighting Teridax's forces. When they arrived on Bara Magna and took the fight to Teridax himself, it was Kereko who held him off long enough for Senku to escape. Senku joined in fighting off the rest of Teridax's minions, but was never in the thick of it. It would be weeks until he heard of how Teridax was finally defeated and the planets were reformed.

Senku later found Veinor; surprising as he heard that Teridax slew the Makuta so that none could challenge his rule. The two fought before Veinor took his leave. Shortly after, Senku found a naive toa of Mirages, Shinkirou, and took him under his wing. The two regrouped with the Toa Soga and together, they fought through Vorox hordes and the remnants of the Skrall.

Senku would later be captured by Veinor, in an attempt to coax Shinkirou to come rushing to his master's aid. Against the behest of everyone, Shinkirou went right into the trap. Veinor was ready, and mortally wounded Shinkirou as he got Senku out of his binds. He blinded Veinor, took Shinkirou, and flew as fast as he could off to the Toa Soga's base on the outskirts of Bara Magna going-into Bota Magna. It was too late - Shinkirou was dead.

Senku, out of grief or out of seeking vengeance, became a wanderer. He became well-acquainted with the new planet, and continued fighting against evil wherever he found it. However, he's sure to not let anything he deems evil live for long.

Years later, Senku is a grizzled veteran. The world he once knew is gone, faded to the sands of time. The only constants he has solace in are himself and Veinor. The Toa are dead or missing, the Toa Soga have been transformed into matoran sans Garan and Kazi, and Velika revealed his true form as a Great Being to hark the arrival of the God Eaters - his allies who would help him rule the world. While Senku managed to kill Velika, the God Eaters were coming nonetheless.

Now, with the threat of the world being devoured by these God Eaters, Senku finds himself in battle once more to save a dying world, and preparing for what will be his last battle with Veinor.

Abilities

Senku can fly with top speeds at 75 mph, conjure his weapons from out of thin air, has extreme proficient in hand-to-hand combat, and is a near master of elemental abilities. While he does have access to all 42 elements, he prefers using fire and is most adept using that. That's not to say that he can't use the other elements: he tends to lean towards using Earth, Stone, Psionics, and Shadow in battle. His mask is a Great Huna, but is powerless due to the mutations he suffered. Originally red, he later dyed it gold and silver.

Weapons

Senku has access to a veritable armory of weapons. He always keeps a small, protosteel dagger on his person and a small pistol he can attach to his upper arm or to his gauntlets.

Senku is also able to draw out a pair of three-pronged claws from his gauntlets. They can cut through most armor with ease, and can also channel his elemental energies.

Senku carries a pair of blade-buzzsaws, which unlike the claws can slice through more materials. In battle though, they're not as good as they don't have the piercing power the claws do.

If he needs heavier firepower, Senku can draw his triple-barreled shotgun. It doesn't use normal ammo, and instead draw off of Senku's elemental energy. Unlike his other weapons, he has a limit as to how much elemental energy he can feed into the gun. If he uses too much, he can risk blowing the weapon up. If he uses too little, he can jam the gun and make it useless. When he does feed the right amount of energy in, it makes a very big impact, being able to punch through almost anything up-close. It's not too strong from far away.

The best weapon to channel his energy is the Fire Stave, a simple staff that can combine any element fed into it with Fire - for example, with water it creates boiling water. With earth it creates lava. With stone it creates condensed coal that act like fiery landmines. When fed fire, it just creates a stronger and more refined flame.

Finally, the Giridai Club was a weapon bestowed onto him from the God Eaters as a "token of good will". It's big, it's heavy, but it can stretch itself out long distances without losing any momentum. The skulls that make up the actual club can attack as well, gnawing at anything trying to attack the club.

While they gave him the club to try and control him, Senku instead turned it into his own weapon, the Giridai Flame - a flamethrower that can fire explosive fireballs and coats the club in flames.

Personality

Senku is very stoic, and doesn't show an emotional side to anyone. After years of battle and deaths of close friends, he's become cold and calculating. He does have a sense of humor, and isn't a total bag of brooding. When battle comes, he's always ready to taunt his opponent and strike them down.

I see the problem, though you could potentially add more blue and make that work: it'd be a very busy colour scheme, but you could try it.

Pretty neat!

Quoting Wertman 8 I was initially going to say that this guy doesn't look much like a Toa, but once I fully read the backstory it made a lot more sense :P This is a nice MOC: very solid looking and has that classic 06-08 titan look. I like the spear, especially the use of the Stronius Mask. There are a lot of colours here, but you manage to tie them together fairly well- the only weak part is the blue wings; I'd suggest adding more blue or getting rid of it all together (Though I would be interested in seeing you pull off the former) Once again, a great MOC! (Though you might wanna make the photos a tad bigger if you can: they're kinda hard to see :P)
Thanks for the comments! The only Makuta I ever got with the wings was Vamprah, so I had to make do with the blue. As for the pictures, you can click on them and they'll take you to a new window (or a new link if you choose to not open them in a new window) and you'll get a bigger picture. Hope that helps!
