underwater base
the second part of the underwater scene.
About this creation

the second part of the scene
it s been a long time that I wanted to build an aquanaut base

although I wanted to do a bigger one,
it s ok for now.

I have more vintage aquanaut vehicles,
perhaps I will have the chance to realize my true vision one day,
16 baseplates or more.

Quoting David Roberts I never knew that such large transparent panels existed in Lego. A great looking base. I like the lighting under the sea's surface too.
thanks David! I bought as many as I could in view of building a very big aquanaut base, the next one should be unforgettable, it will be true to my vision.

Quoting Builder Allan Hehe then my guess was right :-D It looks fine with the octagonal windows, they're quite close to the look of the windows in the film - and they do look great along side those large blue window-pieces :-)
thank you very much Al! the next one will be bigger.

Quoting Builder Allan Hehe it was a nice movie :-D I wasn't sure but the many pipes and valves along with the five round windows in the front did make me think of it :-)
it s exactly where I took the inspiration from, the tubes and valves struck me when I saw the movie, and figured I d use it since it was so particular. I would have preferred round windows, but, since I wanted to use the giant blue glass pieces, I had to use the blue octagonal windows to match them.

Quoting Builder Allan Now that's an epic scene! The size of the base pretty much dwarfs the lone diver in the front. Cool and detailed work Frank, makes me think of the movie 'Abyss' :-)
thanks Al! ha, ha! as always, you read my mind like a book, as it was pretty much based on it, lol, but, I envisioned bigger, next time, the scene won t be so small compared to the base.

Quoting LegoPredator ! WOW it´s awesome, I like the color shaping (maybe because yellow is my favourite color) :) Great job again! Is there any interior in the base?
thanks LegoPredator! yellow was a must for aquanauts, it s the classic color scheme, yes, I will post them on my facebook page once I make another, as I did take pics of it, just not with my cell phone which I use for the old uploader for the pages.

Quoting MCLegoboy ! Sweet. The underwater themes have always interested me. I like the use of all those big seemingly useless pieces. At least you're putting them to use. That water lever above has me worried though. That looks very scary, and I'd hate to see that your pieces are warping because there it's enough support.
thanks MCLegoboy! I worried all along that the water plates would crash my scene, fortunately, it held firm, it did nt had time to warp in the time I used them, it s not megabloks after all, it s first grade genuine Lego bricks. worth my hard earned money, lol.

Quoting Deus "Big D." Otiosus I do not like the red detailing. Black, white, blue, sure. Because Aquanauts.
thanks Deus! to make a smoother transition with the big blue glass domes, I did not had better than red in sufficient quantity, I would have preferred yellow.

Quoting Magma ! I love this stuff. The steering wheel piece is one of my favorites and all those gray ones on the top of your base work wonderfully!
thanks Magma! I used those to simulate adjustments for water pressure, it seemed to look more realistic and detailed.
