Quoting Callum ~ Ahh!!! I can't wait for the last two issues! This issue was pretty good. I liked the setting up for the ensuing final battle and the speech in the end. It'll be interesting to see where the "Platonic Justice" side is in terms of strength after the other members of the TORM left. I also liked how you addressed my gripe with the previous issue with the whole Galia-not-doing-anything-until-it-was-too-late thing. I did have a few gripes with this issue however. The pace kind of slowed a little too much for my liking. I get that things need to settle down after #29 but I feel not much really happened in this issue. I also have a few other nit-picky things that I want to comment on. Firstly, I think that the Guardian being so easily distracted away from the gate, the thing he lives to protect, was a bit strange. Also, something that has been bugging me for a bit now is Anut. Overall, his story has been quite good throughout this book, but it really irks me how he seems to have learned nothing from Beginning Redemption, although it seemed like he did. In the end of Beginning Redemption, he seemed to have shown a good arch, forgiving Kuvago. It showed he realized he needs to care about his teammates if he wants to keep the team together. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it feels he has just forgotten the lessons he learned back then and is back to his old ways. Perhaps you are going to touch on this in future issues but I thought I would point that out. Anyway, very good issue overall, I can't wait for the final two issues!!!
Thanks Callum! I'm glad you liked this issue, and yes, I did focus on that specifically because of your comment on the last issue :P To address your gripes: Yeah, the pace may have slowed down quite a bit, though I still felt that it was important to showcase all of these character dialogues, especially to separate one highly dramatic battle from another :P True, the Guardian does live to protect the Gate- he is also a really ancient machine which is incapable of any proper thought besides from its duty. It's powerful, but not very intelligent. As with Anut, you're right; this does kind of undermine Beginning Redemption- this particular arch was planned before the Beginning Redemption one, and when I wrote that story it kind of complicated things a bit. I will say though that Anut merely began to trust Kuvago, but it didn't at all resolve the tension between him and Tyranca- that was a different issue alltogether. I'd say his inability to learn his lesson is a flaw on his part. Also, we don't know exactly how long Kunar has been talking to Anut, or what exactly he's been saying to him, so there is also that to consider. But yes, I could have made it slightly more consistant. Thanks very much for the comment, your insightful and critical points are always helpful and a pleasure to read! :)

Quoting RaptorTalon ~ Great stuff! Dread seems to get more and more menacing by the day, and every time you see him it really gives you a sense of...well...dread. XP Awesome as always.
Thanks Raptor! Well, I guess the Makuhero media gave him that name for a reason :p

Nicely done once again, Wertman. It's nice to see two large factions, one held together by thin threads, and the other slightly more structurally intact, gathering to duke it out. I was also quite happy to see a progression of Edith, a character that, until now, has seemed to be more of a gruff, warrior-like character that one would typically associate with an arrogant villain, who doesn't care about the opinions or problems of others, actually apologize to someone. You often don't see that. Also, Dread's speech was rather inspiring... up until the part where the Contenders failed to correctly play their part in his plan. So far, this series has been well written, and well executed. I can't wait for the finishing chapter(s) to come!

Quoting Toa Gaim Let see what I get so far, the crazy doctor got jumped by our cat lady, Voltwhip is reveal to be more crazier than usual, some of Torm member join Dread, the demonic becomes a good guy slowly, and an epic battle is coming up all we need is epic background music for that said battle. Overall good work!
Well that certainly is one way to describe the issue :P And yes, you will probably need to find some orchestral piece to listen to while reading the next two issues! Thanks as always, Gaim!

Indeed, Edoth has softened considerably throughout his time with Montu and Cilla! :D

Thanks Blizzard! Yes, this should be a pretty entertaining fight, spanning over the last two issues of Book 2. I personally never thought of Edoth as gruff or nasty in particular- I mean, he's quite violent and a little arrogant, like the rest of Thanatos' troupe, but I always tried to write him as more polite as the others. But yes, he is certainly becoming more humble over the course of the Book. I'm glad you liked Dread's speech, and leave it to the Contenders to ruin it! :D Thanks once again, Blizzard!

Quoting Traykar the swift Wow. Dread is really good at inspirational speaches. Who would have thought.
Indeed- I guess the speech needed to be good, because "Hey guys, you know that thing that every other villain has tried and failed to do? Let's try that!" is kind of a hard sell. :P
