Lego minifig-size SSK-AIP (conventional submarine with AIP powerplant).
About this creation
I remodeled the hull, and I want to you show pics of the torpedo room.
The submarine is finished on LDD, and the name has been changed. It is now the S90 SSK-AIP class, inspired on the real Navantia´s S80 class that should enter in service with the Spanish Navy in 2016-2017.
The sub has
-8 torpedo launchers
-16 short range SAM VLS launchers
-storage for 24 torpedoes or missiles (plus 8 more in the tubes) or 2 mines per missile/torpedo. Perhaps a few more mines may fit in the torpedo room, without reducing the number of torpedoes or missiles.
-crew of 32 plus a small 8-strong SpecOps squad.
-officers mess hall and crew mess hall.
-3 diesel generators.
-kitchen and storage rooms.
-restrooms and showers.
In the future I will post pics from inside the sub.
It is 242 studs long and 24 wide, with 11000-12000 parts when completed with bricks.
The main picture is the version with the small Towed Array Sonar, reporting name "little cucumber".
This other version is the "cucumber" one, with a Towed Array Sonar inspired on the Russian Akula SSN class.
