The famous British racing car, the Lister Storm, recreated in Lego.
About this creation
The Lister Storm is a British sports car from the small manufacturer Lister Cars. Lister historically used to run modified racing Jaguars but in 1993 they had a go at building their own car, the Storm, which featured a Jaguar V12 engine. The car quickly got a racing version, entered in GT car competitions and endurance races internationally. Initially it really struggled against the increasingly faster GT1 cars of the 90's. But from 1999, thanks to regulation changes, it finally started to show its true potential, becoming one of the strongest GT cars on the FIA GT grid. Listers were continued to be raced until the mid 2000's.
I first learned of this car in Gran Turismo 4 and it quickly became one of my favourite race cars of all time. I therefore decided to recreate it in Lego, as a 6-wide model. Building small-scale models of real cars is always a challenge, as it is quite difficult to accurately reproduce all the little details of the real car onto the model (I usually build 10-wide cars).
But here it is, a 2003 version of the Lister Storm GT. A few pieces on the model are not Lego but Cobi and Mega Blocks, however that doesn't really cause any problems. This is my first creation uploaded on this site, I hope you will enjoy it!
I find this model looks best from this rear angle; the rear was also the simplest to recreate.
