"It never rains but it pours" they say. Well here is a model truly inspired by one of those times when it POURED.
About this creation

General Information:

Built For: 2016 Mini MocOlympics.
Opponent: Marco QM
Opponent's Entry: Rain Bug
Category: It's Raining!
Are you outside dancing around and jumping in puddles, or inside watching TV? Build a MOC depicting a typical rainy day for you.

About the Build:

So I live in the semi-arid tropics (and I don't know why they don't just take the "semi" off that adjective). Here we'll get a rainy season of four months or so, then we'll wait another four years to have the next season. The phrase, "It never rains but it pours" takes on a whole new meaning here. It never rains (four years), but it pours (four years worth of rain in four months).

I built a scene that comes to mind when I think of rain and the raining season. It was one of those years when we actually had a rainy season and, true to the norm, it poured that year. Furthermore, our church met outside before we had the building we do now. To complicate maters more, rain always goes by the calendar here (one year it is always at 4:00 pm on Mondays; the next year it is always at 10:00 am on Wednesdays; etc.). That year, the cycle was at 4:00 pm on Sundays (or a bit earlier) which is exactly when we would go to church. The streets between our house and church were (and are) dirt paths, so you can imagine all the mud created by the weekly showers. We always walked to church (I have no idea why we didn't take the car) and many times we would find temporary rivers and ponds that we had to find a way to cross even though they were big enough to force even an adult to step in them (that's if it wasn't still raining when we left for church).

So I built one of these many rivers along with the muddy path and barbed wire fence behind which the weeds grow on the empty property across the river (street) from church. My build also features a minifig with a Bible in hand who has made footprints in the mud and inevitably muddied his Sunday best!

Quoting Commander Bricks I feel like your opponents build is superior but his doesn't fit with the theme nearly as well. Therefore you get my vote :)
Yeah, I had to go on vacation so I didn't have as much time ... I know, I know, lame excuse ;P

Quoting MCLegoboy ! Yep, conceptually, you have a stronger entry, and the build is also quite good as well, I don't have any complaints... which means you also get my vote! Well done.
Thanks for the compliment, MCLegoboy.

Quoting City Creator Tough call here. The concept of your build is probably the main booster here. I like how the water was done, but I would have liked to see some more work on the mud. Your opponent did another car, which isn't as creative as we were expecting, but the fact that he added those water drops helped him too. Ultimately, it comes down to minor details, and your build just slightly overtakes his. You have my vote. Good luck with the remaining judges!
Thanks for telling me what was good and what needed to get better! I'll work on it in next round (if I make it) since I'll have more time.

Quoting Rhino . Awesome job Stucky!!!!! Really like the whole thing, but I also agree with Hadden, the water would look extra cool with some brown chunks in it..... Good luck!!!!
Thanks, Rhino. I really enjoyed making those footprints!

Quoting Roanoke Handybuck Awesome job! Great build! I think you caught the feel of mud very well! But, I think you should add some brown 1 x 1 circular plates in the water so that it looks like it is pulling some mud chunks along with it. Again, great build! Good luck in Judging!
You're right, it would have looked better. Thanks for giving me constructive criticism!
