Dorru V4
Blizzard was right! The next MOC that I've got lined up for you all to enjoy is a revamp of Toa Dorru, the jovial and kind hearted Toa of Air and one of the six Contenders!
About this creation
“You might call it drivel, but I don't think there's anything bad about putting others ahead of yourself... a very wise and powerful Toa taught me that!”
-Dorru to Kunar, The Contenders #16

Dorru:
Dorru is a Toa of Air and a member of the Contenders. His elemental abilities allow him control over air, whilst his Kanohi Kualsi allows him to teleport to places within his line of sight. He carries an Anchor, which he uses to hook himself to branches and ledges, while also preferring to use it as a melee weapon. He is by far the youngest of the Contenders, and as a result he seems the most energetic. He has a strong moral centre, inspired by the late Takathorax, and will usually be the first to step in and argue in favour of integrity. He is somewhat of a vivacious jester, making him difficult to handle at times.

The Matoran Dorru live a simple life in Racta Major, being good friends with a Bo-Matoran named Dukrina, before she was kidnapped by Makuta Reshak of the Sombrak. Dorru's life changed when he volunteered to help Turaga Trokan, Toa Benu and Koi stop a mad plot to free the demon Thanatos. Dorru and his new allies succeeded in doing so, yet in the process he was accidentally transformed into a Toa. Benu proceeded to train him in the skill of being a Toa, which he used in the Sombrak invasion of Racta Major; he helped Toa Leka retrieve the Elemental Staff of Air, and later helped him battle Makuta Soldok outside the gates of Racta Major. After the battle, Dorru returned to Racta Major, still an apprentice Benu, who had turned into a Turaga, sacrificing his power to defeat the Sombrak leader, Aroxion.

Three years later, Dorru became a member of The Contenders, helping to recruit Toa Raxonax and Toa Galia to the same cause. The team set out to find the only surviving member of the Sombrak; Makuta Reshak, but soon encountered the corrupted Toa Dukrina along with two Rahkshi, Apothrahk and Thisrahk, with whom they engaged in battle. Surprised to see his old friend again, Dorru tried to remind Dukrina of their past friendship, only to discover she was now working for Reshak. The Toa were defeated and thrown to the mercy of a beast named the Jankori; however, they instead managed to befriend the beast. The Contenders returned to Racta Major, where they battled two new villains, Toa Kunar and the IRM, who had snuck in to the city with them earlier. This turned out merely to be a distraction for Reshak to enter the city and defeat them.

Dorru felt demoralised after the battle, but was encouraged by Takathorax to take up arms again and set out for revenge. They did so, and discovered that Reshak, Dukrina and the Rahkshi were attempting to resurrect Aroxion via the Gate, a mystical portal to the afterlife. Dorru and Galia then returned to the Jankori and enlisted him in the oncoming battle with Reshak and his servants. They returned to Racta Major just in time for this battle; he went after Dukrina specifically, but was struck down by the Dark Hunter Sohbec, who had also entered the city to free Kunar. Although Dorru fell, Takathorax sacrificed his life to defeat Reshak once and for all; the Toa of light gave his Kanohi to Dorru before passing. This experience struck a chord with Dorru, who had bonded with Takathorax before the battle. Later, Dorru aided Raxonax in a battle with his shadow counterpart, Shadonax; Dorru witnessed Raxonax kill his old foe.

When five members of the Hero Factory arrived in Racta Major, Dorru bonded with one in particular, Sanah Torch. Soon, a villain named Dread and his gang arrived at the city, demanding that they handed over one of the heroes, Mary Windbird; they refused and Dread attacked the city. Dorru and Torch fought Tumbler, a servant of Dread, and repelled them. The group then split up; Dorru and Torch went after Tumbler, but failed to stop him. On the way back, Dorru encountered Dukrina again, and tried to appeal to his old friend, managing to reach her briefly before she reverted back to her corrupted self. The Contenders reunited and fought Dread’s gang, resulting in the death of one of the heroes. They retaliated in a final battle, defeating them, but not before Windbird’s life was taken. The Gate was also destroyed during this battle; the Contenders would later have to deal with residual portals that had been opened as a result.

Life resumed as normal in Racta Major, before Shadonax returned from death. The Contenders faced this resurrected villain, but were promptly defeated; they were locked away in Racta Major’s inner vault and sedated by the resurrected Makuta Astrok, one of the city’s new rulers, known as the Shadebringers. Dorru was eventually freed from his hypnosis by Raxonax, who deduced that physical violence effectively broke the spell. After some moral boosting, Dorru was ready to help the others to strike back at the Shadebringers; Dorru was killed in the attack, only to be resurrected by Shadonax at a later date and returned to their cells.

Dorru is currently in a cell in the inner complex.

An overview! Two things I wanted to do for this one: A) change the legs and B) change the Torso. Despite the fact that this is meant to be a skinny character, In the last two versions the legs have been too skinny, so I wanted to thicken them out a bit. I didn't like the torso of the previous version- it looked alright, but it was incredibly unstable and the shoulders wiggled and drooped constantly. I had been meaning to change out the torso for quite some time to something more stable- and now I've finally done it!

The back.

His achor- the handle has been shortened, but other than that it's unchanged- I like this design too much!

Attaches to the back, as usual.

With Lewa, the Uniter of Air!

Dorru and Kunar: Toa of Air verses Toa of Air!

Dorru and Dukrina: old friends, long since separated!

High five with Sanah Torch.

The Contenders.

Cheeky preview- can you guess who it is?

That's NOT all folks!

Before I crawl back into my hole, go check out the updates of Toa Raxonax and the latest members of The Torm!

UPDATE 12/8/16:
You guys wanted thinner forearms; you got 'em. That is all.

Quoting Mister Birdie Wow, this is excellent! Just everything looks perfect, even though the arms and legs aren't 100% custom, they still look really good and work well with the moc. All around, another moc! -MisterBirdie
Thank you, Mister Birdie! :D

Quoting Callum ~ Awesome job! I think this is a great improvement on your previous version. I really like the torso design and the lower legs are really well designed. I only have two problems, the first was the lower arms being to wide, but you fixed that so no problem there. The next problem is the grey bushings at his legs and the friction adders. They are a bit distracting as they aren't part of the colour scheme, but I don't really see how you could have avoided this as I believe both elements only come in grey. Overall, a great MOC!
Thanks Chains! I'm glad you liked it! Yeah, general consensus compelled me to replace the forearms :P and unfortunately you are right about the grey parts- if they came in black, then I would gladly replace them, but unfortunately they didn't, and I'm not one to paint my parts :p

Quoting Solias Toa of Earth I think the lower arsm need to be shortened not just thinned they seem a bit to long, But overall I do like him a lot! Also I think I might know who that Preview Guy is.. but since others have kept it secret I shall keep my mouth shut as well.
Potentially, but I cannot do that without creating custom forearms, something that I specifically do not want to do- and I don't want to make him taller either, as he'd just end up towering other the others, which I didn't want to do. Still, thanks for the comment! (and don't worry, the secret is now out!)

Quoting NewDrewBuilder1992 /// Nice revamp or Dorru. I dig the lower legs and lower arms. It complements the sleek Toa of Air build well.
Thanks! I think I finally managed to pull off that look, and only after four tries! :P

Quoting Dark Aeon Lovely revamp. Can't say I have any idea of who's in the preview, so I guess I'll just wait until your next post.
Thanks Aeon! Have a pop over to the trailer to the last Journey to One episode on Lego Bionicle's facebook page- that may provide a helpful clue- if you can be bothered :P

Quoting Timeline 15 Pretty cool, always like it when people add a heart light.
Thank you sir! I don't normally add heartlights to MOCs as much as I used to, but this one seemed like the perfect opportunity for it! :D

Nice work, as usual, Wertman! Though, personally, the arms bother me a bit, because the forearms are almost twice as thick as the upper arms and so they appear out of proportion.

Quoting Makuta's Descendant - He looks great since his encounter with Dread. Dranix: "wait who now?...oh yeah the red and black psycho guy. Also, with that golden hammer thing....OH CRAP I THINK I KNOW WHO THAT IS!!"
Heh, I'm glad you like Dorru's new form! And yes, it's not too hard to figure out who's coming next friday...! >:D

Quoting Reaper . I like what you've done here - he's got a lithe and agile feel to him while also seeming powerful. I particularly like the chest design, though perhaps that Inika piece could be inverted to improve the flow of the design. Overall, a great-looking, solid character
Thanks Reaper! Yeah, I've been trying to perfect the slimmer look without making the MOC look barebones or scrawny. Hmm, as in flip the piece upside down? It's something I could try certainly, though I'd imagine it just give him a pot belly :p

Quoting MuppZ . I feel like adding a chain to the end of the anchor and attaching it to his hip might be i nice touch. Great MOC.
Thanks MuppZ! Hmm, I think the weapon might be a little too long to dangle from his hip- I imagine that would end up being quite awkward. An interesting suggestion nonetheless!

Quoting Pakari Nation99 Dorru is looking better than ever! Torso looks beautiful, too! My only complaint is that the thigh armor is in gunmetal, would prefer that to be black, and also maybe facing forward. But even so, it's just a nitpick. Amazing as always!
Thanks Pakari, but... they're not in gunmetal; they're black :P

Quoting Toa Gaim Awesome update and I got a pretty good hint on who's up next, but I won't say to avoid spoilers. Toa Hiroshi:"I see you have gotten better since your encounter with Dread and his followers young Toa though I am not certain that I will be able be a good leader for my people when my time comes."
"There are things that must transpire if I am to be posted on MOCpages-" Thanks Gaim! Dorru: "Thanks Hiroshi! Well, we try our best- and I'm sure you'll be a good leader when you need to be- good luck to you!"
