The Summit Diner
The Summit Diner (2016). Based on the Summit Diner in Summit, New Jersey. This piece will be included as part of an exhibit on New Jersey Diners at The Morris Museum in Morristown, NJ. I am really happy with the results and feel it represents some of my strongest work to date. 2016 has been a very strong creative year for me, actually. I could not have seen this piece through to its finished state without the graphics work of Rusty von Dyl or the LEGO brick printing of Tommy Armstrong and Elaine Armstrong at the Original Brickengraver. Huge thanks to each of you! Enjoy!

Quoting Lee Hardwick Nicely crafted, I thought you'd built some skyscrapers in the second picture until I realized they were your LEGO draws, lol
Thanks!

Quoting Tracey Liberi My grandfather owned this diner up to 1965! I was only 3 but still heard so many stories, and since I live only a few blocks away I got to visit a lot! Thank you so much for the very accurate representation!
Thank you very much! My family owned a diner up in Massachusetts. Long before I was around though. :)

Quoting Deus "Big D." Otiosus Generally this looks pretty cool, but the trans plates do not look very translucent. If they are not supposed to, then this MOC is just about perfect. Otherwise, it has a small flaw.
Thanks. This piece came out just as I had intended albeit with one exception, but its not the windows. :)

Quoting Henrik Hoexbroe Wow! Excellent. Much to like here. You even added curtains behind the frosted windows.
Thanks! You noticed the curtains! :)

Quoting eric s This is so cool! Would you happen to have a certain scale to which you've built this model?
Thanks, Eric. I don't have a specific scale for this. It is just a visual interpretation of the diner and the setting.

Quoting Subic Vedran Reference photo would be nice. But I belive it is perfect replica. Stickers are brilliant final touch to superb bricking.
Thank you! Here is a link that can be followed for images: https://www.yelp.com/biz/summit-diner-summit This is definitely not intended to be a perfect replica as I prefer to add my own nuances to my work. And, believe it or not, this uses no stickers. The bricks are printed with ink. WHAT?!! Yes! I had the Original Brickengraver print them for me. They did an incredible job.
