Outrider-Lego Ideas
You might remember this YT-2400 light freighter from a game called "Shadows of the Empire". Almost as famous as the Millennium Falcon, the Outrider was owned by Dash Rendar, a fellow smuggler and friend of Han Solo. During the events of the game, Dash and his droid Leebo lended aide to the Rebellion through various encounters.
About this creation

Both turrets can pivot 360 degrees and elevate.

The Outrider in flight. Yes, the legs are removable, and quite stable!

Here is the underbelly, if you were curious. It isn't perfect but I am happy with the result.

The boarding ramp proved a bit of a challenge, but all in all I think my solution was decent.

Port-side docking ring. This thing is huge!

Love this rear profile. Leebo seems to be fixing something.

You can see that Dash and Leebo can both fit in the cockpit.

Now for the interior! You can see I've adapted the "pizza slice" method of the system-scale Millennium Falcons. The turret and other open areas were connected via pins and studs.

Although we did not see an engine room in the game, I'm assuming it was right about here.

Another room I added. Dash has to sleep somewhere right?

Lots of smuggled goods. I think my favorite section is the back wall. The door can be lifted up as well as a "play feature".

Dash and Leebo playing Dejarik. Here you can see down the passageway to the cockpit. Now, the overall ship is mostly minifigure scale, however in places like the passageway and Dejarik table, figures must be seated. This is because the internal structure takes up space.

And that's a wrap! After three months of building, rebuilding, and acquiring Lego for the build, I have finally done it. I hope you've enjoyed this as much I have! If you like what you see, please show your support for this project on Lego Ideas in the link below!

Absolutely fantastic!! That's the best version of a YT-2400 I've seen anywhere! I'm guessing that you don't have anything in the way of parts lists/instructional points or the like?

I thought I commented on this before, but I guess I didn't. Amazing build! What sets and/or pieces did you use? This is so incredibly detailed! Amazing work!

How could I requisition one of these? Maybe just a parts list? This is the best rendition of the Outrider I have ever seen! Very nice!

Great work! I supported on lego ideas and shared on facebook. I hope lego picks this up and since the ship was featured on Rebels we may yet get a set for it. I hope they use your design!!! Please consider posting instructions! Or at least a parts list. Excellent model!

Quoting Oliver Becker Excellent composition, J.K.! I remember the game so far away( never finished at an old PC...), but the YT-2400 light freighter is still in my mind! So well... :)

I have to look trough, your pictures, several times, because there's so much to find out! I clearly like the use of special-colours, such as flat-silver, and greyish-blue. Verily the features on the hull, are done very convincing, such as the structures, by using wedge-plates, e.g. on the cockpit-rear-tube. One question: The Engine-thruster-grill, is it created by pegs,/ or by the small bars, with clip ( male and female plugged together)? Nevertheless, it would be an suggestion, to use those 'reflecting-dark-blue-stickers' of the solar-panells of Lego-satellites-sets, as background, behind the grill...just an idea. And I may wish an picture of the cockpit-console. I am already spreadding your Lego-Ideas Link...

Quoting Stephan Schumann Splendid, exhilarating, so-welldone-in-bricks, outstounding, terrifying-beautifull, and coherent Outrider! Yes, of course you will get my support on LI! I know this ship-type from the Lucas-Arts PC-Game 'X-Wing Alliance'. It was an spledid freighter, for many space-adventures! i can imagine, the tactical-attack on my Escort-Shuttle moc, avoiding flying direct behind it's rear-firing-arc...So much epic! I thank you very much, contributing this Outrider-moc to the Lego-World, and showing it to us. Excellent Work!!! P.S. may you can add a small refreshing-cell/bath/rest-room; that would be very authentic, for an spaceship ( two of my ships, have one, another theoretic in the mech-deck...)
Haha thanks! And I will admit I've never thought of that lol.

Quoting swash buckler Very well done model here. Ship of this class appears in upcoming episodes of rebels so maybe there is official model coming later- but this is better than any set because of sheer number of details. Fantastic job :D
Thanks! I'm hoping it does make it as a set, even if it isnt mine!

Quoting Gallardo of LU great Outrider, I'm not as familiar with this ship as others but it's still unmistakable and this is another great build. well done. I'll be sure to swing over to the Ideas page too. EU ships in most cases are far more interesting than the movie ships (except Slave I, I truly believe that no ship can equal the uniquely deadly and sleek Firespray class)
I agree. Slave I is another favorite of mine, I have the UCS model of it on my shelf haha. But thank you!
