This Years Award winning Brickvention Collab with the talented E.B
About this creation
With so many cities having fallen to the Dark Wizards wrath the Kingdom of Rhorevia grew angry and many once friendly cities began to doubt one another. Civil Wars, and brawls broke out causing the Kingdom to almost fall on itself, just as the Dark Wizard wanted.
After the Fall of Bahnhof and The Band of Brother's managing to find and kill the Dark Wizard responsible for so much destruction, the high King decided it best the Lords and Ladies of the Kingdom meet to discuss a peace treaty. With all the civil dispute still rife, it was the only way to restore peace to the once great Kingdom.
All the lords, ladies and Yarls of the Kingdom meet at the High Kings Keep. Hornreach Keep. Here they would discuss the terms and conditions needed to allow peace to prosper, and also allow for plans to me laid so that attacks like the Dark Wizard's would never happen again. With the flicker of a quill armies were linked, hands were shaken and deals were done. Some argued heavily, others were happy oblige.
Though peace was on the horizon, remnants or the Dark Wizard's orc armies still lived on, and would rather die then see their late Master's plan not be fulfilled. Extremists have managed to find their way into the heavily guarded city, hell bend on assassinating the High King... Will they succeed? Or will another band of Adventures be able to stop this horrible attack from occurring? ...
Here's is our MOC in it's full glory!
Close up on Eli's side with the awesome wall design
Better shot of the river
The bridge that is the entrance to the castle, got two adventures outside debating on entering the castle... Let's not go to Camelot tis a silly place...
Points if you can see the snake
Another one of Eli's beautiful waterfalls
A bird about to land... what excellent plumage!
A look at the link between our sides
Two of my towers
Goods outside a fellows house
A Cheese Slope roof... who needs world hunger when your roof is made of cheese!
Someone is drinking their troubles away... A Dark Wizard ruining your quality of life? Forget about it with a good bottle o' mead
As you can see we used the same technique for cobblestone
A dark elf chilling by the marketplace
Here on is basically where my side starts
Nice shot of Eli's side... that annoying line is the link between our sides... tables are uneven so it's hard to match it perfectly :S
Cool side shot, again easy to see which side is which and where the meet
A look down the path leading to the door to the King's Hall
A glimpse inside the hall
We had a couple small cave details and things like this which were fun :)
And the back of my side, bet you didn't see that coming... or you wouldn't have if I wasn't hinting at it...
There is a farm ontop
Rather proud of how this guy turned out :)
The Farming brothers doing their daily work
Who's that adventurer on the side there?
Hint is was Eli's Sig Fig :P
Crops that have been harvested
The High King's Throne with a stain glass window... let's not look behind it, it totally doesn't go into a wall... I didn't run out of pieces and pic the easier option... pffttt never!
A not so happy Yarl talking to the King... someone isn't ok with signing the treaty
Discussions going on everywhere, One sir has even brought his minifigure collection :P
The entrance inside, here we can also see a lot of the Kings Royal collection of relics
"Dude don't take photos where signing a treaty here!"
"Yeah what you looking at?!"
The pillars holding it all up
Closer look at the banquet, fun fact two minifigures here I used in a DND game with my mates from uni, which ones? You'll have to guess!
The lighting here looks killer! Which is something as it's normally not great in that building :P
A Prisoner rots away... if he had a pick he could mine that redstone and TNT his way out!
A church in the city with a market stall behind it
Better look behind my towers
Dark Red Roof and what would have been a nice shot of Brickvention if it was in focus too :P
A tree just by someone home. Eli and I saw this as the King has a lower class village outside he abode so as to mingle with the common folk and look like the cool King :P
Kinda looks like the sun is setting on the castle
A guard on duty... "Now go away or I will taunt you a second time!"
The other side... mmkkayyy maybe I uploaded a lot of pictures :P Sorry not sorry
A guard who's not in the mood for an annoying little kid :P
You can just see our smoke technique here
Another cool overall shot
... and basically the same shot... whoever uploaded these photos should be fired this is basically the same photo.... oh wait that was me... NEVERMIND!
Semi dynamic shot... again best we could do lighting wise, it's not the best place to take photos at sadly
Actually this one looks killer :)
Next to us was our good mate Sandmirror/Ben he's a great guy! I'll link his MOC when he uploads it :)
Last look at Eli's excellent Cobblework
Close up on Eli's Tower, great use of stickers mate!
Fourth Wall Commentary:
Man, another fantastic year at Brickvention and a brilliant start to 2017! I have lots of stockpiled MOC's ready to post, so look forward to them soon (I know I promised that last year too but don't worry, I'm on it this time :P
If you aren't aware Eli and I have been displaying at Brickvention in Melbourne together for 5 years, every year we both build two halves of a MOC. I live in Perth, he lives in Brisbane, we are on literally opposite ends of the country. Every year our two halves have met together seamlessly all through the power of the internet
Seeming as this was our 5th year we decided to go for a bit of a mix combining all the elements we loved from our past 4 MOC's and putting it into here.
Points to those who spot characters and things that link back to our past builds, we now have a shared storyline for each which this MOC brings it together, as you would have read in Yellow above :) It's way more fun building these with a fun story linking it all :)
I think I've covered it all, here's a couple extra photos from the fun times at the con :) big>
We won 2nd Best in show, which we're both very proud of :)
I also won the build in a bag challenge and took home the sets I build and the New York Architecture set shown, YAY!
Here's some handsome devil with a newly bought gift for himself... I won't say how much it cost... place your bets!
... if you want more fun photos like these of my time at Brickvention, you'll have to head over to my Flickr, so stay tuned I'll be posting them within the week :)
I am stunned.... Can't day anything. Lot of the details you use I haven't seen available in Italy. I would like to have such a quantity of pieces or find a collaborator as you guys.i love castle and this is great. Mine here is nothing to do about it!!!!
Oh gosh, that's a tough one, we played a long time ago. I think we played with the Legends system? Don't quote me though, I don't know. Otherwise we made up our own story and characters with in jokes and stuff. I played a dwarf who grew up thinking he was an Elf. His Dad was an Elf Mage so he thought he could use magic... He could not. We had this special bonus for him where if I said I used a spell and rolled a 20 the Gods would take pity on me and let me use one, but anything under nothing happened. Few times it worked :P
Brilliant castle work through and through. I love the varied settings you worked in (mountain, water features, walls, underground hall... etc.) and that you kept the quality and detailing up throughout the entire massive build. Bravo!!
Thanks all! Ivan, Brickvention is a Lego convention in Melbourne Australia, you can display anything you want to there, System, Bionicle even Duplo. If you don't live in Australia you should totally check out LUGNET and see what events are on near you. Let me know if you do end up heading down to Brickvention or any other LUG event :)
Thanks everyone, really appreciate the lovely comments. Cheers Choco, it's from the CMF series King from... I can't recall which number the series was but the packaging was Lime Green. Thanks Wertman! When we collab I build one half and Eli builds another half, the only way we are able to make sure it looks good together is through pictures and communication online. Otherwise it's really a guessing game.
Looking absolutely amazing as usual. I can't remember if I've asked this before, but how exactly does a collab on this scale work? Do you have to meet up with each other, build it yourselves and take it over, or do they give you the parts and you build it there? If it's the former, is it just one of you guys' collection that you use to make it or do you use pieces from both of your collections? How do you tell who's pieces are who's once you take it apart? This whole entire thing is fascinating to me- I don't know how it works- all I know is that this is one mighty fine MOC! :D
This is a superb build that you should both be very proud of! I love all of the little details and some of the textures are amazing! I love the cobblestone floor, the farmers house and the King's collection of relics. Well done! =)
There is so much to like about this MOC! The details are amazing as are the descriptions! I love the cheese slope roof, the waterfall, the walls, cave cutouts, cobblestones, humor, just everything really! Exceptional work!
I love these builds where you and Eli collaborate, and you nailed it again this year! You guys did amazing! Kinda curious, what hair piece did you use for the kings hair? Anyway, keep up the great work! :D
