A ruined guardian from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
About this creation
I, like much of the internet, was taken by storm by Nintendo's March 3rd release of the new Zelda title, Breath of the Wild. The open-air gameplay mixed with the smooth feel of the game was instantly addicting, and I've enjoyed every moment I've gotten with the title since. I thought it would be cool to attempt to construct a Guardian - the game's signature enemy, a one-eyed, six-legged, laser-spider-robot-thing - which is what I have to present to you today.
I only have this single photo for now, only showcasing the profile of the beast. The legs are pretty screwy - I resigned to building a 'ruined' guardian as my part selection just doesn't cover six grey, jointed robot-spider legs (even ruined, I only built three legs for him). I'm fairly satisfied with the rest though, especially with the head, which I actually connected to a gear at the back of the body with a Technic axle to swivel the head a bit less clumsily then just turning it by hand. I had to substitute trans-red for the vivacious, evil pink from the game, but other than that it didn't turn out so bad. Maybe with a stop by BrickLink I'll be finishing those legs...
Since this photo I've added a bit to the ruined legs and some general greenery growing on the beast's body. I'm hoping to get a chance to take some more pictures of my build, and even hopefully get him to his finished state! Stay tuned if you're interested! ;)
Awesome work! The shaping on that is really nice. I really like the head as well. Those things really are terrifying and you've captured that well. Nothing's worse than thinking a Guardian's dead and then it comes to life again!
