The Bridge to Doriath
About this creation

A blurry picture of the tree ^^

This picture is to show how big it really is (putting a mini fig on the bridge makes it look smaller), so the mini fig is on the water ^^

Here is my latest build. Based off a scene from the book, The Children of Hurin (by J.R.R. Tolkien). It took me about two and a half weeks to complete, (which is long for me). This build turned out pretty good (though I was running out of pieces for the tree). It's one of my favorites builds I've made. Please feel free to critique

I actually made a version of this with two of my brothers a year or two ago here.

P.S. The pictures make this look small, the base is 32x44 and the build is over 50 bricks high

Also, MELO (Middle Earth Lego Olympics) 2017 is coming! The group is now officially open! The contest starts the 22nd. See the group for more details.

Quoting --R.K. Blast-- Great stuff! Certainly come a long way from your last version! I like the underside of the bridge as well and would love to know how you did it. Great stuff! --Blast--

Astounding magnitude. Nicely done here Carter! The bridge stands out beautifully from the cliff side and the olive green is always a welcome sight. While I love what you've done with the tree roots and foliage, the trunk isn't very convincing. Might be a little too rough for realism's sake. That said and done, you've done a truly splendid job with this entire creation, really impressive work for sure. God bless and keep on brickin'! ~Promar~

I'm hoping to have a picture sometime (probably next week) showing how it's done, (the underside of the bridge). I'll probably have a link in these comments . Thanks!

Quoting Roanoke Handybuck Awesome job Carter!! I love this!!! The water looks great, and the rockwork is amazing as always!!!! It looks especially great this time, probably cause I use the same technique... :P That is if you connect all the pieces with plates behind the rocks... Anyways, keep it up!!! Can't wait to see what you build for MELO if you enter, also, are you entering into LCBTC???
Thanks man! With my rockwork I actually do it like this (https://www.flickr.com/photos/145118906@N05/28702837415/in/photostream/), that shows one of my builds with all the SNOT rock pieces off. Which shows pretty well how I make it. Yup, I'm planning on entering MELO this year! But, no. Sadly I'm not doing LCBTC this year. I really wanted to, but I'm going to be in TX for part of the round. And I have a lot of sorting before MELO. Thanks again!

Awesome work! The landscaping and rockwork is amazing and I love the tree. I also like how you put in those upside down pieces under the bridge. I do thin that the stonework could be a bit more detailed to match the detail in the rocks though. =)
