As with my newest rigs, there is a customized slide-out section for command purposes.
Driver's side features the storage for rescue tools
Showcasing the slide-out a little bit more!
The last compartment on the driver's side contains the 60 gal CAFS system which is super useful for nuisance fires and car fires.
Rear of the apparatus has storage for plywood for collapse rescue situations and also the compressed air system for a wide variety of applications which includes filling up bottles at the scene of the fire, supplying the CAFS system, and running the Holmatro Extraction equipment. Top of the apparatus has storage for oblong tools, the inflatable raft, and the Speedy-Dry hopper.
As you can see here, access to the walk-in section is limited to the cab. This allowed for storage of the many suits that Squad 5 carries. In addition to the normal Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) the firefighters usually wear, Squad 5 has suits for Hazmat, CBRNE, dive rescue, technical rescue, and wild land suits.
Closeup of the Seagrave Attacker cab. As you may have noticed, the cab is extended in order to give more room for the firefighters in the rear. Since they will be facing forward during a response, the area directly behind the engineer and the officer has space for ALS equipment.
Like my newest rigs, Squad 5 is also equipped with a NightScan PowerLite to light up even the darkest scene!
