G1 Transformer: LDD Bumblebee (V3)
Introducing G1 Bumblebee (V3)! This is a complete redesign of my V2. I was inspired by Alex Wong's amazing V2 Bumblebee! It is very difficult to recreate the classic VW Beetle lines in Lego, especially at Minifig scale. I did my best to get the shaping as close as I could and am pretty happy with the results. Robot mode looks much more G1 accurate than my previous attempts and he is very articulate (lots of ball joints)! I will be working on a brick built version at some point in the near future. As with my other vehicle Transformers, Bee fits a Minifig when in Bug mode. Details include headlights, taillights, front and rear bumpers, running boards, steering wheel and dashboard, and opening doors. Please feel free to rate, comment, and ask questions! I hope you enjoy! P.S. There was a piece (the 1x1 rounded plate with clip) that did not show up in the vehicle mode renders. Unfortunately, it wasn't an available piece in the version of Stud.io that I have. I used several to make the leg transformation work. It's a great little piece for us Transformer builders :)

Quoting alex wong I can't believe you can modify your Bumblebee in such a short time. Car mode looks more compact and close to the VW shaping, and I also like you use tow ball joints to do the robot arms. Nice!
Thanks Alex and thanks for your inspiring builds!

Quoting Bx Brix Awesome job as always! I haven't conquered this version of bee because I always have problems replicating the leg transformation. This might push me!
Thanks Bx! It took me several attempts (and failures) trying to figure out that leg transformation!
