My retro-rocket idea expanded into a full spaceport and launch scene.
About this creation
I decided that my 3...2...1...Blast Off! rocket came out so well (a sentiment that seems to be agreed with here), that it needed more than just a little 4x4 base. So, I took the model I had and expanded it to a 16 x 24 scene including a naval vessel, bouy, rocket hanger, bridge, two mission control buildings, a fair number of trees and hillsides, and frankly whatever else suited my fancy this morning. It took about an hour or so for me to change it from the 4x4 to what you see here.
Again, thanks to Murdoch 17 and Jonathan Demers for the inspiration for this.

Fantastic micro space launch scene! A worthy addition of detail from the rocket only build!
Thank you, I really felt this one demanded something more than that last build so I'm happy it turned out quite well. I may end up trying to build this one in real life at some point. It's not a lot of parts, but it's a fun little thing. I wonder how it'd do somewhere like Ideas. It'd be a small, relatively cheap set and the retro rocket look might turn out nicely.
