F.D.L.C. Engine Company 30 in Thomasville operates this 1998 Simon Duplex engine. This engine has a different color scheme because it originally served as Thomasville Volunteer F.D. Engine 306. In 2004, the Thomasville Volunteer F.D. was shut down when the F.D.L.C. took over firefighting operations in Thomasville. The engines existing black stripe was then replaced with the signature F.D.L.C. white stripe. The engine is nicknamed "The Black Pearl" since it is one of the few pieces of apparatus in the F.D.L.C. fleet to feature a black cab.
