Made for MELO 2017
My opponent Oliver Becker, good luck Oliver!
My category: Harad

I researched Harad a bit and most of the times it's mentioned it has something to do with boats or harbors (Umbar is actually in Harad). So I made a harbor (and a boat). Please realize that this was a super rushed build, due to the fact that I'm starting work and leaving on a trip. So I would have liked to make this better quality, (though it's not horrible). I made most of this in two days. Good luck to everyone in the contest!

Excellent build! In this round I would have loved to have seen more of the part of Harad that was inside the continent (with an oriental-african look) than that at the coast, but then everything about this round was open to your own imagination. In the end you get my vote because of your excellent architecture and the more balanced look of your build! Good luck in the next round!

Great looking scene!

This is a solid build. Packed with details and good textures. I love the water and the boat, particularly the mast. This has a nice vib and atmosphere. The roof on the dark gray building seems like it should overhang more. Over all great build and good job, you get my vote.

Sorry for my late commend, Carter! It shouldn'd look unpolite, but I was absent. I like to tell some of my impressions looking at your fine built: I love the ship, even it's more like a cog than a harradrim one ( in my humble opinion...) Also the left house is due as it's in southlands style. The right one is northern/medieval... Everything build very well, and I like this! But as I know, Tolkien had Harad in mind as his fantasy- version of africa: So there's very much desert in this vast lands in Near Harad, Far Harad in the "very-south" should have had jungle and much green. Umbar is a former city of the Nķmenůreans, they occupied the lands in the Second Age, first as somekind of friends, then they rule with a hard hand. Umbar and it's corsairs (Third Age...)is a region of it's own, so here as a special item in the contest... Good luck to you too, Carter!

Great job here Carter! Excellent shaping on the ship and the raised stonework above the waterway. I'm also lovin' the well-populated buildings too. Thanks for posting this, you're unendingly inspiring :) God bless and keep right on brickin'! ~Promar~

Quoting Deus "Big D." Otiosus There is so much to love here, the ship is grrrrreat and the textures on houses are good, but the one thing that is not to love is the photo quality. What appears to be the problem is the really low resolution. More light or a good camera.
Thanks! better pictures can be found here (https://www.flickr.com/photos/145118906@N05/)

The boat came out really great! The town also feels like a good representation of the gritty harad civilization.
