About this creation
This is my entry for Round 5 of the 2017 Middle Earth Lego Olympics!
My opponent's homepage!

Our category was Numenor, so I chose to build a Numenorean city scene with some interesting architecture inspired by a recent trip to Europe. I only had 2 days to build because I was gone on vacation for the beginning of the round, but I still managed to put together a MOC that I am quite happy with. Good luck Carter!

I love the dome. Very inspired. And that little tree looks great.

Hmm that's strange, i thought i had already commented on this.. Oh well, i'll do that now then. This is an excellent build. Nice idea to use that mining-piece as part of the roof, and the little blue bird is a very original idea too. Great work :-)

I love the creative use of the power miners drill pieces for the roof. great idea!

Your creation has everthing in it to impress at first sight! It's very harmonic at this scale and the details make feel very well! Congrats on advancing and I believe you'll make it if you hold this level, CB! Sorrowly I can't "play" with you here, would be a pleasure! Chapeau! :)

Awesome job on this one!! So many cool techniques added in such a small build! Good luck in the final round! :D

So, you look at this and go WOW what a beautiful scene, the colors, details, characters, etc... Then, you take that second look and discover just how much is going on here from the roof technique to the trees to the floor - incredible, great job!

Quoting Ben Cossy I've been back to look at this twice now. So cool. There's some killer cool detail throughout all of this and so many amazing Techniques. Awesome work.
Glad you like all the details and techniques! Thanks for stopping by! :)

Quoting Michael Kringe Excellent build and congratulations for reaching the finals!! I really love this build, especially the towers with the spears on it and the house in the middle of the creation. This was a really close decision, but in the end you have my vote, since your MOC offered more variety and detail. Good luck in THE FINALS!!
Thanks for the vote, I can't wait for the finals!!!

Quoting Doug Hughes So you got two votes and made the MELO finals!! Great job Classical! This is a really nice build with great stone details and a vibrant feel to the city square!
Thank you, Doug! I'm hyped for the final round! :D

Quoting City Creator Alright, this is going to be hard to decide. I personally like Carter's use of small rounded plates within the towers for more texture, and overall they are very polished. However, your new building techniques and the feel of your build won you over. Good luck in the final!
Thanks for the vote! Carter's build was awesome and very well textured. I tried to go for a more unique and interesting architectural style with lots of new techniques. Glad you like it!

Quoting Justin Li My favorite part about this is that it has a personality distinct from your usual builds, although this could be fake due to the lack of flex tube trees. ;) Good luck!
Yeah, this turned out quite different from my usual style, which definitely makes it more unique and refreshing! I almost added a couple flex tube trees, but then stopped myself and decided to try a different technique for once. Which I'm actually quite happy with :) Thank you!

Quoting Werewolff . "I only had 2 days" (builds something that would take me two years) :D Seriously though, a fantastic build, with a lot of detail. That little bird is a great technique by the way. Good luck to you.
Haha, thanks! I'm not the first to use that type of bird technique, but it's something I've been meaning to try for a while now.

Quoting Brick Ninja I love the feel of this build, it has a pleasant ambiance. I really like how every section has a separate design yet they fit together. All of the walls and pillars have nice details. The central dome is really cool, but should have fit the color scheme a little better. The dome having three colors in it seems a bit much, particularly with nothing else having green. My only other complaint is the abrupt edge of the build. This has some really good parts including a great little tree, and an awesome bird. In the end you get my vote.
Glad you like the build! Yeah, there's a lot I could have done to improve the dome, but it was extremely fragile and I was running out of time, so I didn't make any improvements. It's definitely a design that I would like to revisit later. As you know, the edge of the build was very tricky to finish off with the floor tiling running diagonally across the plates. If I had more time, I would have at least made it less blocky and more finished looking. Thanks for the vote!

Yep, awesome! The street is just awesome! The architecture is great as well, the dome is just great! The trees are pretty nice, and that bird is a nice detail! Keep it up and good luck! :D

Despite your short building time, you really made an excellent scene and I can't wait to see what you do I round 6! I really like the different roofing styles which make it look more like a citadel and the bird is definitely a technique I'll be borrowing.
