Riverwoods International Airport Fire Department is proud to announce the delivery of a 2017 Oshkosh 8x8 Global Striker. This vehicle will go in service as Rescue 991.
About this creation
This Striker comes equipped with a 4500 gallon water tank, and a 630 gallon foam tank. In addition to the water and foam, there is a Halotron system on board. The vehicle is also equipped with a 1950gpm pump
In addition to the bumper turret that can attack high and low (sweep the ground in front of the vehicle), the vehicle is also equipped with a 65 foot HRET Snozzle. The snozzle is capable if discharging all agents through its stinger tip or the fog nozzle. The tip is also equipped with scene lighting and a FLIR.
The rearmost compartments provide the mechanics easy walk-in access to the engine compartment for maintenance, while the overwheel compartments are tool and reel storage.
