The J Class is a type of ship mentioned several times in TOS, referring to an older style cargo or transport ship.
About this creation

These are small vessels that can be crewed by a single person. Two variants are shown in TOS-R: Harry Mudd’s ship (the Stella), and Dr. Sevrin’s ship (the SS Aurora).

Harry Mudd’s ship is a simple unregistered transport, and therefore has no markings.

The Stella is destroyed when Mudd tries to evade the Enterprise. With the engines overheating, the ship drifts into an asteroid belt and is destroyed just as he and his passengers are rescued. And well he might try to evade Kirk, because he is guilty of human trafficking! Not to mention drug charges, the scoundrel.

The original version of Mudd’s ship was just a glowing light, so it was necessary to create something more specific for the remastered episode.

Two small warp nacelles (about 6 feet in diameter) flank a powerful impulse drive.

Mudd lands on a remote mining planet, ready to make a deal.

Mudd and his “cargo” beam aboard the Enterprise.

When next we see Mudd, he is being held captive by the androids of an uncharted planet. They agree to make a facsimile of his wife Stella, so he can be reminded of why he left: “Harcourt Fenton Mudd, have you been drinking?!” “Shut. Up.”

Mudd shows up once again in TAS, having escaped the android planet and returning to a life of questionable ethics.

The SS Aurora is another ill-fated J Class ship, reported stolen by a Dr. Sevrin.

Dr. Sevrin is a driven man, a true believer in the legendary planet Eden, and nothing will stop him from taking his followers there.

The Aurora is a larger version of the J Class fitted for passengers.

The Aurora was originally a reuse of the Tholian ship, with added nacelles. This was also replaced, as the team at CBS wanted to correct inappropriate reuses of models and matte paintings. Sometimes budgetary constraints meant that two wildly different planets would have the same gun, the same city, or the same ships.

Sadly it is also destroyed as Sevrin tries to evade the Enterprise, again due to engine overheating. Two for two – seems like a design flaw!

An upper hatch can be connected to most airlocks.

The upper deck contains the crew compartments and control room. A drop-down ladder provides access to the airlock hatch. Aft is the warp core and impulse manifold.

Dr. Sevrin may dress like a space hippy, but he is not a man to be trifled with!

A sliding hatch in the floor gives access to the lower deck.

The warp core sits in front of the impulse manifold.

Two fusion reactors provide auxiliary power.

The lower deck is the cargo hold.

The entry ramp deploys to a flat surface at about 30º.

Underneath the engine room is a life support bay, accessible through an exterior hatch.

Here you will find air tanks and pumps, batteries, …

… as well as water tanks and waste management.

I hope you enjoyed this civilian addition to the world of Star Trek. I didn’t furnish it with food processors, bunks etc. The pilot can always customize it for themselves – LLAP!

Quoting Marty Fields Excellent ship and great Harry Fenton Mudd!
Thanks! Mudd is, after all, a "colourful" character!

Great work! The curved hull must have been a real pain to plan and build. The interior is wonderful, as always. Nicely done!

Awesome little ship! I loved both of those episodes of TOS.

It's great to finally see these ships especially Mudd's realized in lego. Magnificent!

Now that I'm looking at it again I really should have put in a forward landing leg. Although the warp coils are supposed to be the heaviest component, it looks like it would tip onto the nose.
Quoting Gabor Pauler Nice little ship (little only for your standards). Landing on the warp nacelles can be a little bit bumpy (I assume from the form of ramp that it lands on hard planet surface with gravity), but apart from the lack of landing gear, it is plausible. The all-rounded hull could be a real pain to build, but it is more realistic pressure hull than the block-like hulls of other small crafts.
