[5.0] Ebon Hawk in Knights of the Old Republic 2 And Its Crew
Hello everyone! This is my first upload. The Ebon Hawk from Kotor! Enjoy!
About this creation
~I've updated the page after some design improvements~

I'm constantly looking to improve this design so please, if you have any advice let me know.
The day I wanted to upload this the wheather was horrible and I don't have a photo studio so I'm reliant on the sun. Apologies for the 'meh' lighting in the photos.

Alterations since upload [1.0]:
- Extended the exit ramp.
- Shifted the dormitory acces from the side to the top.
- Minifigure improvement on HK-47, Kreia, Bao-dur, Visas and The Disciple.
- Moved the engine room further back and the central room to the front to make room for the corridor.
- Interior polishing on nearly all rooms
- Added the secret compartment.
- Further detailing on the exterior.

For those who don't know what they're looking at, the Ebon Hawk is a Star Wars freighter starship used in both Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic games. The fastest ship in the outer rim and owned as a smuggling vessel by an underworld mobster of The Exchange called Davik on Taris, until you steal it to escape the planet's destruction.

KotOR 2 is my favorite game, not just of Star Wars, but of ANY game. Most, if not all, my MOCs will be of KotOR.

Front view.

Side view.

Putting this design into LEGOŽ was a real pain in the beginning due to the shape of the hull. The placement of the landinggear and the sheer weight of plastic allows the cockpit to plunge lower than the rest. I've applied multiple layers of foundation into the core to ensure minimal 'plunging,' making the design stable and heavy. I'm not kidding, this bad boy weighs over 3kg.

The shape pretty much resembles the original, same with the colour distribution.

Look at that backside. Such a fine view. The rear end is shaped to be curvy and smooth, just how I like it.

A better look at the enginges. It took me a while to get them as they are because of lack of inspiration (and money for the right parts because I'm a broke student and y'know, not to offend anyone, but food kinda gets priority over LEGOŽ parts) but I think I did a very adequate job if I say so myself *wipes dust off shoulder*

The turrets gyrate and angle a full 360 degrees to 'achieve optimal accuracy ratio.'

This photo shows how high above the ground the vehicle stands. A minifigure is able to board via the exit ramp perfectly.

The exit ramp has a realistic length and slope, which LEGOŽ sometimes forgets in their sets.
The retractable landinggear is applied in the exact spot where it was in the game.

One could argue that retraction is redundant. This feature is only available/useful if you were to lift the ship, and holding a 3 kg object in a single hand isn't exactly very pleasing as a play-feature. Maybe I'm just too skinny. Don't judge me.

A quick peek into the cokpit. Hey Atton! *waves*

Front view with a minifigure to scale the size.

OOh YEAAh!! Surprise surprise the whole thing opens up, which you could totally see coming. Part of the top can tilt, and the rest has to be removed.

Yes, yes, I'm gonna show everything in a more detailed manner, calm down!

In the cockpit we have Atton hanging out.

The (locked) Navicomputer.

The main room with the holoterminal has a few studs on the floor so the crew can gather here. The minifigures you see are Mandalore and what I assumed Meetra would look like.

The vault holding the crew's weapons.

The Disciple is making some life support kits in the medical unit.

In this corridor you'll see Hanharr pacing impatiently. While I generally find the lightside playthrough of the game more enjoyable, I favour Hanharr over Mira as characters. I mean Mira is great but Hanharr's presence is a more compelling experience with the whole 'lesson of Strength.' Mira is kinda just there and doesn't add anything besides calling you old and ogling at Atton. Hanharr is also a lot easier in LEGOŽ as you simply put Chewbacca there hihi *flails*
He's still wearing his shackles too.

T3 is repairing the engines. Really don't have anything else to say about that. I guess I'm a bit tired and hungry. I'll go get a sandwich, give me 20 minutes.

The cargo hold with some random supplies I felt like putting in there.

In the garage Bao-dur is doing some maintenance and HK and Remote are hanging out with him. The speeder you see is a design I made long ago and I figured I'd give it a new purpose in collecting dust here on the ship.

Kreia is doing her usual meditation is the same ol' spot in the portside dormitory.

Visas meditating in the starboard dormitory.

~the secret compartment~

The exit ramp (when closed).

Something's happening on the holoterminal right now. Kreia was right. This ship is way too crowded. And I even left out G0-T0 because well obviously. I really dislike 'the fat one' as HK so gracefully said.

Aaand, here's the whole crew in a joined detailed view. Don't wanna make this already long post even longer so, put 'em all together. From left to right; HK-47, Bao-dure, Remote, T3-M4, Atton Rand, Meetra Surik, Hanharr, The Disciple, Mandalore, Visas Marr and Kreia.

Quoting HawkNinja . Very detailed, I love it! I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, I've never played KotOR,only heard of it,probably should but school and all. Is.....Kreia....supposed to have one hand? I should of googled it, I feel like such a noob already. :(
Thank you :) I'm making the entire interior floor smooth and I'm waiting for some final parts to arrive so I'll make an update soon. Gah I love KotOR ^-^ Those games really are my bible and I REALLY recommend them. And, yeah Kreia gets her hand cut off shortly after the prologue of the game, KotOR 2 that is. She doesn't appear in the first. After that event she can only wield 1 single handed weapon. It's not a dumb question if you haven't played the game :]

Aww thank you so much! You are too kind though since I haven't captured 'every detail perfectly' and some things could be prettier but I'm working on it!!

Quoting LukeClarenceVan The Revanchist That is one heck of a first upload, fantastic work! Always a pleasure to see a KOTOR build, and the Ebon Hawk is probably one of the hardest ships to do well - and this is certainly done well. I love the interior design too, even though it's less polished it has a playable feel that really suits the idea that this is a ship from a game and characters walk around in it. Very classic, I miss building stuff that was playable. I'll look forward to seeing your future builds!
I appreciate your comment, kind stranger. Took me quite a while to get it as it is now. The playable feel is definitely something I was going for, as it always is. If you have advice on how to improve the 'interior polishing' I'd be happy to hear it. The KotOR II Dantooine Enclave confrontation is what I plan to build next but inbetween college and money it isn't going to happen any time soon.
