MOCer Cup Round 4 - GOOD and EVIL
MOCer Cup Round 4 - Item: Good and Evil - Build a MOC demonstrating a sharp contrast between good and evil. This contrast should be clear even without the presence of any story - we recommend stylistic and aesthetic contrasts, not merely contrasts with the minifigures or something.
About this creation
My entry to round 4 of The MOCer Cup in The MOCer Games - Summer 2017 .
My opponent TMNS 5097 Good luck to him!

Extremes meet. I believe in reality we mostly have tones of gray! So I tried to make a mask of both in one to show that's what everybody has inside as a disposition when we start the way of life. I also liked to create the bad side as a mythological figure and to make the whole MOC B&W except the eyes.

Better pics?

Enjoy!

Love the use of that... not sure what the piece is called but the eye on the evil side, fantastic piece use, perfect for a bloodshot eye!

Quoting Justin Li Congrats for making it to the final round! I guess my vote doesn't really matter at this point, which is sort of nice, since both of you had fantastic builds! I like each of your approaches to this category - each of you came up with a unique and totally different composition. Oliver: your twoface approach was beautifully artistic! You brought your a game all throughout the contest but this is your best by far. TMNS: I love your approach of capturing the concept in so many vignettes and scenes! Well done. I think it could have been more seamless between a couple of the scenes, but fantastic job regardless. I think in the end my vote is going to TMNS for his more complete picture of the concept of good and evil.
Your vote matters for TMNS, Justin! And that's absolutely ok! I can read between the lines... ;) Thank you very much for your kind comment, much appreciated!

Quoting Jonathan Demers You've got my vote Oliver! Great use of pieces, I especially love the evil looking side. Not a big fan of the white, but it does show the contrast well. So yeah, great work!
Thank you very much, Annakin, eehm, Jonathan! ;) (Just a little irritated from 2. sentence...) Maybe not a good joke... OK, I'm happy you feel alright with my MOC at all so I got your vote! :)

Quoting C Stucky Both your and your opponent’s builds are great and I love how they are unique and don’t look like they came from the same mind. Your build is perfect for this category: the contrast is readily visible, even from the thumbnail on the MOCs page and without any text. Also, I’d like to point out that this is extremely aesthetically pleasing on both sides. There is a distinctive style for each side of the face, which I appreciate, but both of them look nice, which I also appreciate. For these reasons you get my vote. Good luck with the rest of the judges.
Thank you very much for your very kind comment and your vote, Caleb! I'm glad you like my build so much!

Quoting MCLegoboy ! Yeah, that Aqua Raiders eye! I need to find a use for that piece one day. I like your shaping for both halves. The good is soft and rounded while the evil is more angular. The lighting could be better only because I feel like the darkness is making some of the evil's details lost, but I shouldn't talk about lighting because the lighting on my entry is really bad, and you do have the detail shot which is nice. I'm thinking of what I would have done for this category, and I think I would be on the same page. Some sort of dichotomy in a single piece, probably not as artistic but still being more artistic than a battle between two entities. Oh, and you say that it's a mask, I'm really curious what the back looks like and if it could be "worn".
You're right, MCLegoboy! Yup, the cheek of the good half should be rounded like in the old pics and sculptures showing the sun! The back is unspectacular, the whole is nearly at the scale of a young human, because of stability the "walls" are thicker, so it's not to wear... ;) Thanks very much!

Quoting Daniel H. Wow, the sculpting is superb! Love it! Though, to me, the white half almost feels evil.
Thanks for the "L"- word, Daniel! That means so much! :) You fear the white half? Maybe because the dark is so near!? Haha, that's because it's in ONE MOC... ;)

Quoting Henrik Jensen Beautiful work! A great idea, brilliantly executed!
Thanks very much, my friend! Building it was a funny thing, cause I had the concept and the "design" in my mind, changing building one side and than again the other one over the whole time 'til the MOC was done! ;)

Thanks very much, TMNS! Glad you like it so much! B.t.w., I'm nearly 57 years old... ;) My youngest son is 12 years old, but he hasn't that faible for LEGO and not the skills you have!

Thanks very much, my friend! If you get an item in a contest, yu'll try to make the best out of it: so I tried! Joining here was a nice thing because one's creativity is challenged: taht's a vitalizing thing, only needs a little time I hadn't in the foreround... Greets to you, Nico!
