Famous Italian helicopter cruiser.
One of my favorite ships.
About this creation
"Vittorio Veneto" were helicopter cruiser of the Italian Navy.
Built in 1969 cruiser for its time, no doubt was a masterpiece of world shipbuilding.
Italian shipbuilders managed to place on the ship with a displacement of less than 9000 tons a very powerful missile, artillery and air weapons.
The cruiser is built based on the experience of the operation of the cruiser "Andrea Doria". On the ship is substantially enhanced basing of anti-submarine helicopters. In addition to the 40 anti-aircraft missiles "Terrier", the cruiser received 20 anti-submarine missiles ASROC.
Vittorio Veneto has a raised read deck to accommodate a hangar beneath the helicopter platform, rather than a frigate/destroyer style hangar in the superstructure. Such a solution is applied on the Soviet helicopter carrier type "Condor" and the French "Jeanne d'arc".
Spacious flight deck to accommodate a large number of helicopters - 9 light AB-212 or 6 heavy SH-3.
This beautiful and powerful ship for a long time was the flagship of the Italian Navy.

Nice work, especially on the complete, below-the-waterline hull model. The sonar bulge looks very good and the hull shaping is about as good as it can get without going to a larger scale.
