THE COBRA FIGHTER
About this creation

BATTLESTAR UNIVERSE
Near the end of the sixth millennium of time in the Battlestar Universe . This was the most advanced small fighting craft ever devised by man. The flat wings, spear nose coning, sleek aerodynamics , huge twin thrusters for fast attack and retreat. Eventually this design would evolve into the Mk-O Viper fighter followed by the Mk-I .

Having already built the Mk-I Viper and miss naming it as the Mk-II colonial Viper . At the time of completion it was the largest LEGO viper that had been built.

Now this COBRA FIGHTER IS NOW THE LARGEST Lego creation of its kind in the world at the time of completion. Basically I just modified the Viper by removing the third turbo engine and reengineering the underside and changing the colours , flattening the wings.

DIMENSIONS

LENGTH X WIDTH X HEIGHT
60 inches X 36 inches X 14.5 inches
1523 mm X 915mm X 368mm
191 studs X 115 studs X 46 studs

What a beast! The detailing and color work on the main fuselage and engines is really fantastic!

You have a way of creating things that look almost real given the amount of detail you pack into every creation, and this is no exception! Beautiful work on this, a deceptively large and truly impressive build.

Quoting Patrick Selzer totally amazing build!! i agree a pic showing the scale next to something else (like the falcon) would be mind blowing !! is this in real brick or digital or both??
Thank you Patrick for your comment. This build is 100% real, using real Lego elements. Depending on which falcon you are talking about , all would be rather small in comparison. Cheers

Quoting Paul Yperman Incredible build. The pictures however do not show the size. It's huge and as Always much details. Did you build this in real bricks or is it a digital project.
Thank you Paul for commenting. Yes this is built from Lego elements as with all my builds. I have added a new link to show this craft in motion, watch the pilot. Keep up your brilliant creations. Cheers.

Quoting Mihe Stonee as always really impressive ! the scale is sheer unbelievable when only reading the messurements... a pic for that would be greast - love your work !
Thank you Mihe for your comment Glad that it passes your approval. With the size comes the weight, Yes it is heavy. I am still looking forward seeing your Battlestar creation to be completed. Cheers

Quoting El Barto ! Built for speed! Awesome mods on this, Garry! To clarify Clayton's question, would it be something of this vintage that Adama and Tigh would have flown in the Original Series? I recall seeing an early design in the Caprica series, too, with wings swept forward.
Howdy Commander ElBarto the Great. I would hope so as but when looking at all the fighters that were designed by fans over the years everything is blurred as all have their own story behind their crafts. I love it and all the designs. Going off Adama's description in the pilot seat talking to Tie, reminiscing the past Adama mentioned that fighters weren't as fancy. It was fun anyway to try and build. Cheers

Quoting Clayton Marchetti I love to see these builds from the expanded universe. Especially from an earlier time. Is this the type of viper that Adama and colonel Tigh piloted in their youth? I love the paint scheme. Magnificent work!
Thank you Clayton For commenting. I can only say I think this could be the fighter that Commander Adama flew when he was younger in the original series. Keep up the great builds. Cheers

Quoting Mark Kelso Nice, Gary! Love the subtle taper of the nose when seen from above. I'd love to see a shot of you with this behemoth, or perhaps a pic with it amid surroundings that would give us a clue regarding scale. I've found that my sense of scale with a MOC is always off if I don't have those visual cues (always imagining the MOC to be much smaller than it really is). Meanwhile, great work!
Thank you Mark for commenting on this craft. At the moment I have not taken any images with a size comparason but if you note the pilot you may see it is a star wars figure Chirrut Imwe. Also on the previous post of the colonial viper MkI I was standing next to the Viper. Same model just modified. Thanks for looking again. Cheers.
