2010 Seagrave Marauder II/Aerialscope (-/-/75') Tower Ladder 13
I proudly present you the finished FDNY L-13 "The Pride of Yorkville".
This is the second time I built this rig and it will again travel to NYC to meet the real truck and it's roster.
This year together with me :o) So expect some really nice pics at the end of the year.
I tried to add as much detail as possible and I really like how it turned out. Cab, bodywork, bucket and all the tiny details are my own work.
Credits and a thank you for the boom and the help belong to Castle Beach FD www.flickr.com/photos/fdcb/
and David Hensley
And finally a big thank you to Robson M. from Brickdesigners who did a marvelous job on the custom stickers (except the reflective striping and letters) I highly recommend his great work and help.
Hey Loek my friend, no big deal with being inactive. Had the same problem. Was at rehab for over a month and had no time for Lego. But now I'm back and slowly start building again. I'm doing very good so far and hope the same for you. Thanks so much for your really nice comment my friend. Always a joy reading from you. Greets, Sven
Hi Sven! Been a while, I'm sorry for that... haven't been much active here lately so I haven't seen all of your creations. Just wanted to drop by to see if you're still okay, because as it seems your LEGO creations keep up the same level of awesomeness! Hope you're well, with the best regards from me.
Hmm.. Not sure if I understand completely what you wanna know from me. I build my trucks mostly without much functions because design and detail is more important for me. If I can manage to add some functions, like on this rig here the working boom, I try to do it with the best possible mix of good design and function. Dunno if this answers your question. Btw, highly appreciate it when you hit the like button ;)
I know this is random, but it's been bothering me. Why does function matter more/less than form? I wanted a few opinions on this to help me understand. I appreciate you taking the time to look (and hopefully) answer this for me.
Yeah it's the same here. Michael helped me with the boom because he and David Hensley designed it. But leave your E-mail. Maybe I can send you the file of the boom. Should be no big deal if you give proper credit. I changed the design here and there for my own purposes and can tell you that it's working nicely.
Thanks so much for your really nice comment my friend. Pretty cool that you got a new tower. The design of the boom comes from Michael P. I would say just ask him for the file. I think he will help you. http://www.moc-pages.com/home.php/26838
Well Sven, where to start? This simply put, might be the most accurate re-creation I've ever seen. Superb from body/chasis to platform and ladder. You never cease to amaze me with your keen eye for detail! As always I wait for your next creation.
Jimmie my friend and brother, I can't thank you enough for all your lovely words and this really big compliment you made. You lovely comment makes me smile all over my face. But without the help of Michael (in this case) I still would struggle around with the boom design XD I'm glad that you love what I do and I highly appreciate every single word. Thanks again so much! Sending all the love, greets and well wishes back to you and Jill, our family in NC, and hope you have a beautiful rest of the weekend. Take care and stay safe our loved ones!
Question: How does one find a way to improve on Lego perfection? Answer: Just wait on the next FDNY model from Sven "Da Man" Jagdmann. Your ability to utilize all aspects of design, function, and detail are on a level of absolute mastery of this hobby that we all love. Your friend @TL13 is not just getting a great gift from his friend. He is getting a LEGO treasure. I am so glad that you documented this masterpiece with such fantastic shots here on Mocpages and your Flicker Account. This is the most well detailed rig that you have ever created my brother. The excellence of execution and the level of spot on perfection we all aspire to in modelmaking I am sending all the love greets and well wishes to Sven and Juila in Germany from Jill and Jimmie, your family in NC.
Yeah because of the kind help from Michael and David I was able to increase the functions and details of the boom and there are many new parts available since building my first Tower Ladder. Thanks so much for your really nice comment my friend :)
Thank you so much for your very nice comment my friend. Definitely! I'm in contact with one of the guys, my friend Jason and he really loves this rig. Yes I'll make sure that I take enough shots then ;)
Reid my friend, thank you very very much for your really nice comment. Yeah the stickers are from Robson and he did a fantastic job. But they are a tad too small. But we will change that with the next ones ;) Greets back to you and yours in VA from us :)
Oh Sweden, a country I definitely wanna visit some day. Really cool that you show my stuff your coworkers and that they are impressed too. This is really a big compliment I highly appreciate. Thanks so much for your lovely words! And yes, always work on my rigs with love and passion :) But without the help of my friends, mentioned here, this would have been not possible. I was struggling with the boom design and was so glad that Michael and David could help me. Will do my friend, as usual. To you and your coworkers: Greets to you all, take care and stay always safe and healthy. Thanks again very much! Ps: replied to your message on YT.
A diecast model helped me with some details XD Have a collection of Code3 Collectibles sitting in the cabinet beside me. Thank you so much for your very nice comment my friend. Great to hear that you like the new rig so much.
Sven my friend this rig is amazing! Every detail is just spot on and placed next to the real rig I could probably not tell the difference! I especially like the small decals on the cab door handles! :) Greets from VA,
This Tower Ladder is so beautiful, the details are excellent and the decals are stuning. There is a word for this build: LOVE ;)
You are once again showing your excellent and impressive skills in building with lego. When I show your models to my coworkers (I'm a firefighter in Sweden) they are also impressed.
As usual Sven: keep up the good work and keep your models coming so that we can enjoy them :D
(Please check your youtube channel, sent you a message there)
Oh man *blush* that's so kind from you. Thank you so much for your lovely words and your big compliment. The same to you my friend, the same to you. Was such a fun working together with you on the stickers and I really appreciate your help.
You're welcome, you deserve this shout out because you did such a great job :)
First one to comment on this amazing truck!
You my friend is a dedicated, kind and awesome person. I am glad that the stickers worked and I am looking forward to seeing the pictures of when you deliver this masterpiece to their "owners".
Thanks for the shout-out!
