So I'm 90% sure I promised you guys the next vig in the 'Tales on Tatooine' Series... I lied
About this creation
The whole diorama, I originally thought about the building this so that Luke was missing a hand and Vader was standing over him, to reflect... you know THE scene. But I really wanted to use these cool light up lightsabers
Handrails? Safety in a Star Wars facility or building? Pfftttt as if!
Man I wish I was being recorded when young me was watching this scene for the first time, be so awesome to see my reaction to the un-spoiled awesomenesss, what a cool twist!
So there is of course a decent amount of poetic licensing in this diorama, not everything is 100% accurate, but I don't mind :)
Do we actually know what the area they fight in is? Like what purpose does it serve? Is it just a big air vent in Cloud City? I'm sure there is Cannon or Legends info explaining what this place was :P
*lightsaber clashing noises* ... Dude those noises as so nostalgic for me, any time I hear a blaster sound, or Tie Fighter, anything that's an iconic Star Wars sound, totally takes me back to being a kid watching it for the 100th time in my PJ's eating Cereal on the weekend
I'm still so down for Sebastian Stan to play a young Luke in something, that be so cool!
Man with Rebels over (Still haven't caught up on Season 4 yet, so no spoilers! but thanks for the link MClegoboy I'll be right onto watching them when I have a bit more time to spare) I so hope Dave Filoni gets behind another series. Something purely Mandalorian based or Old Republic stuff would be a dream! ... Or bringing back the Clone Wars? (We can only hope!)
Seeing Vader in Rebels was so cool, btw I totally called the fight between him and Ahsoka at the end of Season 2 when I was 10 and watching Season 2 of The Clone Wars... You'll have to take my word for it :P
The underside of the Platform
So I used an iPhone portable charger to power the lights on the Lightsabers, I designed the base around it, and it slots in and out with ease
Cool shots of Vader and Luke mid fight
And that's all folks!
Fourth Wall Commentary:
So while I was at Brickvention at the start of the year, I bought some 3rd party Lego Lightsabers that had the ability to light up, I knew I had to build something awesome with it, so I decided to build probably the most iconic Star Wars scene, The Duel between Luke and Vader on Bespin/Cloud City. Had a lot of fun building this, nothing too complex, it was quick and easy, but still great fun!
Hope you enjoyed! Next up will of course be the next 2 MOC's in the series 'Tales on Tatooine' as originally promised, unless I decide to post a Bionicle before then, we'll see. Regardless they'll be up very soon :)
when You flipped the MOC over, to reveal the underside, I genuinely thought it was a spaceship,
And I couldn't make sense why it was there, until I read the text beneath =), Nice Moc, Btw, I too loved the Darth Vader vs Ashoka fight, =)
Make that one next time, I dont think anyone has done so yet
Nice work on that moc. The pictures could be improved in my opinion. With a dark background, no? The last picture is great, I would love to see the full moc with the same light effect... Lightsabers that have the ability to light up. I didn't know that exists...
Quoting Ben Cossy Roughly yeah, I'm 21, turning 22 as I write this. Haha yes I believe I'm the same age as Tom Holland :P This is eye opening for me too, I thought you were my age haha :P
Well then your math is off because I'm 23. You would have been 10 in 2006, not 2010. You would have been 14 during Season 2. This is why it was so earth shattering because everything seemed wrong. Also, Harpie Birdday!
Wait, you were only 10 when Season 2 of The Clone Wars was airing? Geez, you really are Tom Holland Spidey! Like, what?! I was 15! I was only 10 when the Clone Wars Microseries was airing! What in the world?! I pictured you being just a little bit younger than me, at most a year. That is the most mind shattering thing I've read all day. Oh, and the MOC's pretty neat, too. :P
Great job! The finale of Rebels S4 was alright, but the way everything was resolved really annoyed me, although it does open open a whoooole load of questions. But yeah, no spoilers!
