The Empire Strikes back... Man what a film! I still need to re-watch the OT (For the like 800th time) to narrow down a favourite... that said I'm bad with favourites they change so easily for me :P
Like my favourite Star Wars Character has gone from Ahsoka to Kanan to Maul all throughout this year so far :P And it may well change again soon haha :P
I guess it just depends on my mood... that and the (SPOILERS FOR SOLO) ... the fact that Maul was on Solo made me so hyped and love the character again like I did when he came back in the Clone Wars
Mannnn I remember watching the episodes that he came back in, the minute I could, counting down the days and seconds till it aired... I was so hyped and so in love with the storytelling they were doing! Some of the best Star Wars hype I've ever had!
Anyway Solo, I look forward to possible Underworld Star Wars stuff, and I can't wait for Episode 9!
I loved The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, I can't wait to start hearing news about Ep 9!
Need to buy the DVD's for Rogue 1 and all the new Star Wars stuff... Need to give Rogue One another watch now that Rebels is over
Recently built the new Falcon from Solo, fun set! Made me wanna swoosh it around and play, had lots of fun!
The Lando figure may well be my favourite figure of the year! ... Which begs the question, what's the best Minifigure of 2018? Or 2017 for that matter...
That's all folks :)
Fourth Wall Commentary:
This was just a quick and fun MOC I made. Wanted to play around with some snow textures and techniques, see what I could do. But yeah I just wanted to make a fun little vig with the Taun Taun and cool Han Solo fig.
On Flickr MCLegoboy jokingly suggested I do a "Horrors of Hoth" MOC series like my Tales on Tatooine series... I mean it's a tempting idea :P
Glad to hear you're pretty much a fan of everything Star Wars. I'm not saying everyone needs to love everything, but come on, nothing is worth threats thrown at creators. I always find The Force Awakens better than I remember, but I will never like Starkiller Base because of everything about it. But yeah, the movie is still good, and with The Last Jedi, we got to play with the characters that were introduced, so the story was better in my opinion. I was annoyed with the earlier episodes of Rebels because they kept insisting at throwing in other characters from preexisting stuff as bait to make you watch the show, as if Star Wars in the title wasn't enough, and the characters didn't get to grow, but the third and fourth seasons helped so much, and then those additions from other things were nice connective tissue not just, "Oh hey, it's Character X from that one thing I know!" It's a bit different with Clone Wars since the new characters were Ahsoka and then giving personalities to the Clones, everyone else already existed in some capacity. I hope they do a better job with Resistance and not just cramming Poe, Phasma, and BB-8 down our throats. Well, maybe Phasma, we need some better stories for her beyond a book or comic, but I also don't want to see her if she's just going to be beaten up like in the movies or like the Inquisitors. And since this naturally transitioned into talking about shows, you mentioned your hype for the Maul episodes. Personally, I was also anticipating those, too, but on a grander scale, I think the best storytelling for Star Wars is actually not in the movies, it's in the shows. Television shows are the natural evolution of the serialized dramas from theaters that George Lucas used as inspiration so it fits well, there is more time to spend with characters than in just the two hours of each movie, and they can focus on the smaller stories that can build upon one another to make the big things great. Movies are awesome, but to me, television, and particularly animated television is where it's at because although there is still a budget, the only real limitation is imagination. Technology has become really good, but it's easier to make things look real within an animated world's aesthetic ( A E S T H E T I C ) than to make things look photoreal while stitching in actors from a blue screened stage, although the folks at Weta Digital are getting really good with their motion capture stuff because I recently rewatched War for the Planet of the Apes and WOW do those apes look incredible. Even the little babies that are completely CG look like real apes. It's insane! Oh, and the MOC looks good, too. Thanks for the shoutout. :P
Nice little build! Although the Lando is awesome, the Mimban Stormtrooper from the Solo TIE Fighter takes the cake as 2018 best fig for me. I love the detailing on the armor, and the cloak is awesome too.
I didn't read most of the description of your moc because it had spoilers for the movie but the moc itself looks great! I love the shaping of your hill and placement of Han is perfect. I might have been funny if you included a Wampa or somethin' (I don't know much about star wars sorry). Although minimalistic I would confidently say that it is my favorite diorama so far!
nice moc! replying to duckie down there I saw the first episode of the new agents of shield season, it looks good! my favorite quote so far: "I'm from wisconsin." "What are you high on? can I have some?"
no major spoilers there, just funnies.
