"You know this is where super heroes go to get eaten by Dinosaurs, right?" -Deadpool
About this creation
So this MOC was inspired by the various times the X-men have been to the Savage Land in the comics, I guess more specifically it's inspired by New Avengers #5 where Wolverine is basically doing exactly what he is here, running from Dinosaurs
New Avengers is a great run by the way! Would totally recommend.
So Ant Man and The Wasp is out very soon, that one sorta snuck up on me, I saw The Incredibles 2 last night and suddenly realised just how soon it was :P Hype!
The Incredibles 2 is amazing by the way! So glad I finally got to see what happened Post Incredibles 1. I always wanted to know as a kid.
I'm yet to see Jurassic World 2, I'm excited to though
Part of me is keen because Dinosaurs... the other part of me is keen because Chris Pratt. If you haven't seen him playing with his Lego Figs on Instagram, it's a real treat!
As I write this I'm re-watching Rebels again for, probably the like 8th time. Still awesome! I have to say though I think season 2 may still be my favourite of the seasons.
I only recently realised Dave Filoni voices an AT-AT Pilot in the show, that made me so happy to read that, they're his favourite Stormtrooper, I can just see him grinning like a child knowing he got to do that :P
Ahhh classic Ben, talking about Star Wars in a Marvel MOC... well that'll probably continue
I still have my Battle of New York Diorama to post, which is a bit tough to photograph, but I'll post it when I can. In the mean time I have lots more Star Wars stuff ready to be posted.
I think landscapes, specifically jungle stuff, is one of the things I love building the most in Lego.
So Star Wars Resistance comes out in Fall... man wonder when we'll start getting more news about that. Maybe SDCC?
Have we seen the SDCC exclusive Super Hero figs yet? I can't say I've seen them. I wonder who we'll get?
Man I really wanna go to SDCC or Star Wars Celebrations one year, that'll be hella fun!
I doubt we'll see The Savage Land in the MCU btw... it's a very absurd concept, might be a bit much. I'd love to see it there one day though. But you know... Dinosaurs... In Antarctica :P
Slightly unrelated, but don't forget Bionicle Fans, there are a bunch of Bionicle Inspiration Series Episodes covering the Bio-Cup out now on YouTube :)
Speaking of Bionicle, I will have a couple more up soon ;)
Fourth Wall Commentary:
So the Savage Land http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Savage_Land is a place in Marvel Comics where Dinosaurs still roam. It's located in Antarctica and most people don't know about it... except Super Heroes and SHIELD. So no I haven't just smooshed Jurassic Park and Marvel into one MOC... well maybe I have to a degree, but it is inspired by comics.
I love the new Lego Dinosaurs and I really wanted to grab one and see what I could do with it. That and Wolverine is cool!
Hey Ben, I'm back in control of my account. I was only hacked for one day. They did ruin some of my stuff and I have more information on my homepage. Anyway, about the MOC... I like it, see that banner there, it says, "I like it," and I mean it. Now on to the catawampas! Totally keep forgetting about Ant-Man and the Wasp. I hope it goes well, but I think everyone's going to be the same and just want to know what was going on during the events of Infinity War or wanting to know what important information is going to be in it for Avengers 4. Also, Incredibles 2 was awesome. I never felt the need to know what happened with the Underminer LIGHT SPOILERS LIGHT SPOILERS LIGHT SPOILERS(I mean, he's still out there so...)LIGHT SPOILERS LIGHT SPOILERS LIGHT SPOILERS but I like that they found a way to tie it in. Apperently the kids were played by different kids this time, which makes sense, but I would have never guessed. I just thought that they found some actors that could make themselves sound younger and they were back. As for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Eeeeeeh, it was utterly ridiculous and Jurassic Park is not supposed to be completely ridiculous. I've had enough of mutant hybrids of dinosaurs. I know they're going to make one more, I mean how could they not, but I'm only interested to see if it would be the end of the franchise because I don't think there's much more to do that would be good. I do like the one big reveal in the movie that is a little foreshadowed, but I never once thought of it happening in this universe, but it makes complete sense and I liked it although other people likes the stuff I didn't. I live to be a contradiction to everything everyone loves or hates. Rebels is still cool, that's all I really need to say. And I say that we'll be getting a trailer for Resistance at SDCC. Also, have you heard that there's going to be a Clone Wars 10th Anniversary panel? I hope it's recorded and shared online because I want to see that panel. And as for the Savage Land in the MCU. I actually think it's very possible and believable, but the problem is that we still need to have the Disney-Fox deal go through and actually have the rights to use the Fantastic Four, X-Men and all their related properties. Theoretically, they could still do it, but just not call it the Savage Land, just don't name it at all and then you can use it. You wouldn't be able to use any specific characters that live in there, but dinosaurs under Antarctica? I think they can do just about anything in the MCU after Doctor Strange, Guardians 2, Ragnarok, and most importantly Infinity War.
Think of where we'd be in the food chain if the asteroid that killed off the dinosaurs had gone right past us. Ignorant of what makes this "Marvel" other than the Wolverine fig. This beautifully crafted scene stands on its own.
nice! you should see fallen kingdom, it's really great. there's lots of twists, though... real interesting. the end of the movie basically gives away the storyline for Jurassic world 3. (there's a 3 and a 4 coming out in coming years for sure.)
